Sounds like a perfect car to expect soon. I'm eagerly waiting for detailed pictures!

+1, pictures and driving impression. The Dino 246 is still very high on my list of cars to one day own.

Pictures will come, sorry for my sloppiness with the camera. Today I brought both cameras to get some fresh photographs of the 430 and guess what - I totally forgot as I was engulfed by wrestling the country roads to Ascona and around the lakes.

I did stop by at Kessel Racing to peep through the windows of the workshop and the Dino is still on the lift, wheels off. Being Sunday there was nobody available but my guess is they are waiting for parts and won't continue working on it until all bits arrive. During next week my final payment should arrive and I will for real consider myself a Dino owner!

I will however go sailing any day now and driving impressions won't be available until late September. I am going to have my right foot and calf massaged and streched to help me getting optimum agility for toe-healing...

Salve!

Yes, with "Ferragosto" taking place in Italy in august, spare parts are "rare" parts. Are you sayling on the Lago maggiore or at the sea?

I am sailing in the Swedish west coast archipelago, occasionally going into the Oslo Fjord or to Denmark. It's a tradition and a way to hook up with old friends from Scandinavia. I like it very much but this year I'm late because the Ferrari passion is keeping me here in the good weather. Ferrari is taking over this summer, it seems!

Hey, I had lunch in that shopping centre on the left a month ago!

Nice to see a Dino on the road in JHB.

Small world! Were you in JHB for business or vacation?

Yeah you dont see many Dino's on the road in JHB. This was the 3rd time I've seen one on the road. The other times have always been at the annual Ferrari Owners Club (SEFAC) track day held at Kyalami Race Track.

I took this pic last month at the Ferrari / Maserati agents here in JHB with a black Dino up front by the workshop door....

Business. Next time I'll drop you a line. I suggested to Vitalone that we should do a FLED South one time...

That black one is nice!

I would ask Jimmy, he has had one for several years and seems to be very fond of it. Don't think the maintenance is too bad if you buy one that has recently been properly restored.

My Dino gets appropriate care and attention when needed. Six years have passed, and so far, none were serious problems. The latest happening had to do with the alternator, nothing serious. w/ smiles Jimmy

Am currently in Johannesburg and fully agree with Onno that we should do a FLED South. Will be meeting Schumacher and some friends tomorrow for breakfast in this, my period Dino rival, a 1972 911S 2.4

I wonder if that red Dino is my old one, I bought it in 1996 from a great guy that used to live close to that shopping centre where the picture was taken...

@Vitalone: Great looking 2.4S. Congrats. Would love to drive this car once.

@Boxer: I've heard that there is quite a difference between the 2.2S and the 2.4S, especally in drivability thru torque differences. You may confirm that Vitalone ?

Well thanks to you guys I'm now on the look out for a Dino to add to the stable! What's a reasonable price for a 40k miles car? I've seen a couple around 160k and one at 130k for a 60k mile car. Not sure what the correct market price is or how to judge a good car from the pack!,

I would give Mike Sheehan a call. He should be able to give you a good view on current market pricing.
