Default Goodbye 612, hello F430B redux...

Or to keep with the spate of Latin quotes: Alea iacta est.

Simply couldn't abide by the electronical issues with the 612: would not start twice, had phantom seat heater readings about every other drive, and the last straw was a 'transmission failure' light that came on during a drive.

My dealer was kind enough to make an excellent trade for a mint '06 F430B F1 with 5,700 miles - Nero over cuoio Daytonas with nero inserts. Competition wheels, rossa calipers, with brand new Bridgestones. Some carbon fiber accents. All books and records. Tubi. No stories or excuses.

Daughters have failed to send me the photos they took, but after golf today, I will make sure to bug them so that I can post a few. And while I learned to love and appreciate the idea of the front/mid V-12, I have no qualms about returning to the rear/mid V-8 realm...

Re your 612, Did the seat heater lights and transmission failure readings come on after the battery was replaced as well? I ask because my 612 is in the shop right now for the same reasons, plus the F1's clutch seems to be slipping already (but then my car only has 7000 kms on it!)

Good for you, am sure you will NOT regret!

A horse is a horse, of course, of course, and no one can talk to a horse of course. That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mister F.

The seat lights ghosted before and after - the transmission after. Good luck!

Wow what an episode!

Makes a Model A Ford look good. Always starts;always runs!

No error messages.

When are car manufacturers going to learn that complicated is not good?

I agree - although not that the 430 is exactly simple in an absolute sense, although by comparison. I cannot even digest the manual!

That's a good looking car. Nice in black. Wheels are outstanding.

I am thinking of those for mine.

Too bad the 612 was such a problem. Are you sure it was not a bad battery? Bad batteries account for a ton of electrical errors and problems.

The 430 manual should not be that different from a 360.

That was the initial call: bad battery. Swapped out and the problems kept coming....

You won't. You now have a more engaging more supple car.

You will enjoy as I have enjoyed my 360.

God you live in the fast lane man. On the 458 waiting list swapping out ferraris left and right. Once again another beautiful car, and as always I'm jealous.

I do, reading your comments, the 612 seemed like an arranged marriage where you kept trying to smile where the 430 was always more of a love affair.
