Lately while looking online I have been noticing some 360's with anywhere from 20k to over 50k miles on the odometer for under the magical price of seventy thousand USD. Two examples were even under $60k, one with around 55,000 miles on it and another the owner was willing to let go for around $55k with 24,000 miles on it. Now in no way am I in the market for a used Ferrari right now but I am curious as to whether or not anybody here has heard any horror stories about cars sold for this price? Truly, it looks like a great way to own a still very modern Ferrari V8 sports car but something seems very wrong with it. Any thoughts from those of you with experience?

Actually, the manual transmission cars are getting a premium. I think that low 70s to high 60s is the right number for 99-01 cars. |

The 360 is now two models behind the 458. It's old, period, and there are many, many, many out there, especially after the financial crash. Therefore you would expect it to trade at about the price of an F355 three/four years ago. And that is exactly what it is doing. Onno |

There may be a nice 360 or two out there for that kind of money, but some skepticism is in order. Most of the time such a low price is reflected by the car itself, like poor maintenance or accident history. I would check such a car very carefully in hopes the cause is something less problematic like lack of options or a distressed seller or the common but unfounded fear of high miles. And yes there are plenty of nasty horror stories about the high cost of buying a cheap Ferrari.

| Both are berlinettas but the one priced at $67k had a standard manual in it while the $55k example had the F1 transmission. I love the sound of a sub $60k Ferrari but I would be concerned it would quickly make up the difference with "hidden fees" for a period.

price has nothing to do with it. It's the condition of the car, miles, options, maint, ect. I'm sure the best 360 in the world is out there somewhere for 60k and the worst is out there for 90k. price means nothing as far as trusting the car goes. Now will you find more dogs at the lower end and more cream puffs at the high end? yes.

There is no straightline corelation between bad v good and cheap v expensive. There are too many variables, and the market is simply not perfect. Anyone who sails by mere statistics is in for surprises. These things are best judged on a case by case basis. That being said, in the extremes there is definitely a warning implied. A $55k 360 is a bright orange light: now you might be OK crossing, but don't be surprised if you get hit after all...
