Not sacrilegeous at all. I replaced the Becker in my 550 by a JVC unit with Navi, Hard drive for music, and rear view camera. Have not looked back since - what a pleasure. I hate CD changers! Onno |

All Ferrari's are still two channel analog units. Very easy to attach an iPod in place of the CD input. There is a link in tech section how to do this. Have to look for it. |

| Thanks guys, there is a Becker CD changer in the trunk. I may just change for a more modern Becker unit that will look OEM and give me MP3/SD Card facility too.

My Alpine, 456, has the iPod connection burried in the glove box...but expecting that's not much help: PS, unless wife is passenger, I have no patience for fidling with radio stuff.

I own a 575 with the Becker/Ferrari 4372 unit. I have ordered, and received, an Ipod connection directly from Becker. http://www.beckerautosound.com/Ipod%20cable%20list.html It plugs into the slot where the CD player plugs and is easily reached by pulling the head unit and switching the plugs. You can discreetly run the cable out the bottom of the center console. It comes with instructions. You need to empty your CDs prior to switching because your CD player will lose power and be replaced with the Ipod. Be advised that the new generation Ipods require a charger adaptor if you want the Ipod to charge while connected. If you plan to just use it periodically, you can run the Ipod without the charged adaptor and charge your Ipod at home. You also need to follow the instructions included for the Mercedes head unit to activate the auxiliary. I am running a generation 5 version of the Nano. It greatly improves the sound in my car, and has completely erased any desire to upgrade the original look and appearance of the car because it sounds good. |
