John- The little orange car kept getting in the way.

Those HGTE wheels look really good on your 612 and should help cut down on understeer, too. Your wheel budget must be pretty high. The ones going on your 458 are not cheap, either.

Great photos, but the way.

not at all, im still pondering the lighweight spider wheels because they are like US$10k+, and i dont feel any weight difference from my last light weight optional italia rims to my now stock spider wheels.
but i do feel a performance difference between my 612's stock 20s and these HGTEs mainly being wider and having a more aggressive offset.

i used to always have aftermarket wheels because of looks, but now i dont see the point spending money for tourists when im inside the car all the time and cant see what i bought.

John- Affirmative on the 599 HGTE wheels. They are an inch wider in the rear and a half inch wider in the front, so that will definitely provide more cornering power. I poached two of your 612 photos for my hard drive because yours is the only 612 I have seen with those wheels.

I like the forged five spoke wheels for the 458. They really show off the brakes and calipers and I have seen sets for $5K or so. Actually, all the OEM wheels on the 458 look good until you paint them black.

if u really like to know my thoughts process.....,
i spend so much time on cars it isnt healthy.....

here's whats waiting for me at the parts department, supposedly the lightest of the factory wheels :

i picked the stocks for my spider just to be different from my italia, which i think suits this bodystyle the best, and its slightly concave design and softer look matches the rest of the body. And it doesnt "feel" any heavier than my italia's optional 5 spokes which was important to me when i ordered my italia :

these are also waiting in the parts bin if im bored, silver 5 spokes, which i can make black or whatever :

and of course my factory optioned bright dark grey 5 spokes which like u say show off the brakes, but no concave design which i think look a little flat on a spider :

but whom am i kidding when u see ur favorite wheel on a spider !!!

if i do anything it will be at the next tire change or how bad my money wants to leave my wallet.

John, as always, thanks for posting. I don't always chime in on your threads, but I do always enjoy them.
