Jeroen- Why not just have yours redone with Daytona inserts or have the seats completely recovered with Daytona inserts? Eventually, I will do that to mine, too. They also look good with red Daytona stripes.

| Terry-pics look great....they would look very nice in my car. Thought about buying a pair of any color and having them re-done, however, that will be far too expensive. Asking price for a pair of Tan seats > 8k euro's and refurbishing about the same price....

Jeroen- That is very expensive for redoing leather. It would be way less here in the States, even at 1:1 for the euro.

Who have you asked for the refurbishing quote, Jeroen? Seems very high. Onno Future: 458 Italia (May 2012) Present: 550 Maranello, 330GTC, 365BB (x2) Past: eh - see above. |

Do you know where I could go (of course I know Henk...) to get some realistic quote's? First of all need to find some seats, though... I'd get a quote from Henk first. I don't know any other decent craftsmen, but I do know that Alex knows a few. One thing that will play a big part is what type of leather you will be using. If you want to match the original Ferrari leather then ordering the leather will be quite expensive. Thankfully it will be the modern Ferrari leather and not the Conolly stuff as that is even more expensive. If you are going with Henk, please note that he is very busy and probably won't have time to do it before summer. I certainly hope not, actually, as he's supposed to finish my TVR first! You're not cutting in front of me! ![]() Onno Future: 458 Italia (May 2012) Present: 550 Maranello, 330GTC, 365BB (x2) Past: eh - see above. |

Jeroen- Weather: Here in NM the average percentage of total minutes possible the sun is shining for the entire state is 75%, ranging from 82% in the desert to 67% in one mountain range. I am just taking the 575M out for a drive now. No clouds, humidity about 30%, and temperature about 13C. In the olden days we were called the Sunshine State, now the Land of Enchantment. A lot of the enchantment comes from the sunshine. Onno- Do not blame me for the name, but there is a lot to recommend the high desert, like four real seasons, but 12 months of driving weather. My house sits at 1800+ meters. We get snow several times a year, but it sublimates rather than melts, so no mess and the roads are usually completely dry by 2 pm. Annual precipitation is ~9"/23 cm. No rust problems at all, for obvious reasons. Pays to keep your leather treated, though. I like the cheese in the Netherlands, and the beer as well, especially the whites. Terry-Do you know if the fix mounts for the seats are the same/in the same position in the 550 and the 575? In other words, will Daytona's from a 575 fit in my 550?

Jeroen- They will fit, but all the features will not work, maybe none of them. The electric seat rails for the 575M are shared with the 360 and F430 and are not common with the 550. Whatever seats you find, you will need the rails, too, because the sports seats use a completely different rail assembly. Again, the sport seat rails on the 575 are shared with the 360, and the 550 rails are completely different. The 575M seats are controlled by a "skin saver" ECU, one for each seat, with the driver seat also having a memory funtion. 550 seats are controlled by motors more or less directly connected to the seat switches, from what I can see. Sounds like a more difficult problem going from sport seats to electric seats than the other way around. BTW Jeroen, what is your reason for wanting to change the seats? Looks or comfort? Or both, perhaps? Onno Future: 458 Italia (May 2012) Present: 550 Maranello, 330GTC, 365BB (x2) Past: eh - see above. |

| Mainly comfort. The sport seats look really great, however, a bit too sporty for me on long stretches.....
