Default the hunt for a 550m is finally over!

I have been in the hunt for several months and litterally looked at cars in Palm Beach, Pomapno Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Greensboro, Tulsa & LA.

I am ready with enough material to do the screenplay for Used Cars ll

finally I settled on this 01' in Greensboro with 9200 miles - the car is a time capsule you would not think anyone had ever sat in the seats - the engine bay eas immaculate! Tubi exhaust - two sets of unblemished wheels, good rubber - no stories..

I have to say dealing with Foreign Cars Italia was truly a pleasure! the held the car after a phone conversation, performed an inspection, picked me up a the airport and made me feel very comfortable doing business with them in every way.

Thanks for the help I got here from you guys as well & if anyone wants intel on my rejects feel free to pm me. The depth of knowledge here has been invaluable

Kevin- Looks like your patience paid off. Very nice car and it looks really good with the 575M wheels, which are also considerably lighter than the 550 wheels. Looking forward to seeing more photos taken by you and hearing your driving impressions.

Kevin- You already have some Scaglietti options like the Daytona seats. One thing that would really brighten up the car would be yellow or red brake calipers. You might ask how much that would run. Plus, I am curious on the price from an FNA dealer.

Your 550 has way less miles than my 575M. Less than half, actually.

x2 congrats!

If I may recommend a nice window tint, especially being black to keep that interior pristine.

I am so exited for you! The car looks great.
Since we both live in Ft Laud we'll have to get together when I get my 575.

Congrats.

Default hey taz

are 575M wheels mags?,,,the 550 wheels are easily available which is a plus for not so perfect piloti.....So many models have crazy expensive,no good or hard to get wheels that take a lot of fun outta of it..... I like friends to run my qv but not with the oem 16s,,,,,gotta slap on the s*** trx to lend it out. My little bro wants a Car and I think the 550 is for him but he has a history of "little mistakes"...I see 550 wheel sets on ebay for reasonable but not 575,whats the scoop? grazie, reg

Default You can always have wheels refinished these days

Results and prices are not bad at all so don't sweat the curb rash too much and enjoy.

The original 550 wheels were magnesium, but started to crack around the bolt holes so Ferrari recalled them and replaced them with aluminum wheels. The 575M wheels are aluminum, but quite a bit lighter than the 550 aluminum wheels. The 19" modulars are also aluminum, as are the 18" 550 modulars.

575M wheels are easy to sell because they fit 456s as well as Maranellos. My old set of 18" 575M wheels are on a friend's 456M.

There are good 16" repros for 308s and that might be a solution. Those TRXs have to be hard as rocks by now.

Aluminum wheels are easy to repair and the paint is PPG 36520, Argento Metallic.
