Default 2005 612 $88000

I work for a dealership in Central California and we took in a 2005 612 over the weekend. It is an exceptional example and reflects that of a 612 with 1/4 of its mileage. It has complete service history from Ferrari and we had a PPI performed by Ferrari this week prior to finalizing our deal to make sure it was represented properly. It has over %70 life left on the clutch that was done in 2010 and the belts are not due until 2013 since they were done in late 08. It is a complete car with all keys, books, tools and complete service history. It is a clean carfax no story 612 that is black over black and was well optioned with the F1 transmission, red calipers, 19" modular wheels, shields, heated seats, deviated silver stiching, Bose hi fi sound, leather headliner and rear shelf and bluetooth, then the car was lowered 1" by Ferrari and the TUBI exhaust was installed. The tires are brand new Pirellis and the we had Ferrari replace the front brakes and battery while they were doing the PPI. This 612 has 49875 miles and drives excellent please PM me with any questions.

Looking forward to a few photos. The price is in the right range for a Ferrari with a back seat after a few years in the market. I guess the previous owner(s) drove it a bit. I see you are a sponsor. Thanks for supporting our community!

Welcome as a new sponsor. That looks like a really nice deal on a 612. That drivetrain should be good for way over 100,000 miles, so your estimate is not far off.

Taz, I have a question for you (or actualy anyone that knows the answer)

What is the life expectancy of the 612 engine? When does it wear out?

The reason I ask is I have been told the 430 engine's do not last that long.(at least compared to low reving cars) I know this is a different model but was wondering about the V12 longevity. 100k?---150K?----200K

Knowing the answer would help us in our purchases of the high mileage 612.

Thanks

I do not know your answer but I can state your 100k+ is not stranger to the 12 market or for that matter well past it. The only rebuilds I've seen and a few were due to poor maintenance and low driving [queens]. The case of the older 12 [talking 456 GTs] were the valve guides, but those only required new guides done in situ. A bit of expensive time, but basically straight fwd to a good mechanic with the right parts.

I feel the engines are robust. The connectors and other soft parts need attending, but Helm's kits can solve the hoses and connectors.

As for the 430 being a problem????!!! WHAT? never heard of such. They are great engines from the 348 up to the 430.

Just what have you heard?

Yes, it is what I was told, however, I need some confirmation regarding this statement which is why i came to this site to ask.

The question is regarding the 612 Ferrari design of the engine------how long is it designed to last by Ferrari.

I know the V8's and the V12's do not have many problems and are in fact designed for thier purpose. My question is not to ask what is the problem with them. They are great engines.

How long or how many miles is that engines life expectancy?
