Default what's in the middle?

Hi everybody!

Last time I took the car out of the garage (unfortunately about 2 and a half weeks ago already) I heard a scratching sound underneath.

I talked to my building's supervisor and he just told me he found scratch marks in the middle of the garage ramp, right at the top.

Well, in the middle lies the.... differential!!!

I don't think it damaged anything 'cause the car ran great and no weird sounds were heard again (not even going in, only getting out) but still....

Besides the obvious which is scrapping the garage floor to avoid further scratching (wish me luck convincing the other tenants to go for it) is there anything else I should do?
Take the car to a mechanic and put it on a lift to see if there's undercarriage damage?

Just looking for some peace of mind!

Thanks!

M

P.S. no liquid or anything was found on the floor of my garage and I've started the car a few nights ago with everything sounding ok....

Likely you scrapped gearbox or differential.

a few small lengths of 2x4 is all you need my friend. keep them in the trunk.

A friend of mine already told me this but that's not practical at all....
Hopefully nothing happened to the car and the garage floor will be trimmed to avoid further scraping..

How is that not practical? You need maybe 18 inches and would cost just a few dollars ( unless there is some kind of VAT on trees getting turn into lumber getting used as ramps making them more expensive than shaving concrete?)

Even easier would be to install two lengths of treated 2x4's and screw them into the concrete.

Patching later on is simple - meanwhile you can paint the treated lumber grey with epoxy or whatever matches.

Try driving the ramp at an angle and see if that helps? Should help if the ramp is wide enough to approach at an angle. I do that going into shopping centers etc with steep approaches.
