Default 575 SA Parking Brake not staying parked

Sometimes when I fully engage the emergency brake , it doesn't stay engaged and "pops".

Now the car is on my lift for the winter months.

I was leaning over to under the passenger seat and my foot pushed against the emergency brake lever in its down position and "pop" it disengaged. Upon examination if the lever is moved sideways - pop -totally disengaged.

I always leave the car in 1st Gear (F1 version) but very disquieting knowing that the car is 5 feet in the air and possibly no e brake engaged.

Any ideas how to fix and how do I take off the housing to expose the ebrake

Thanks,

Mcihael

Michael- Away from my PC, so cannot post images. Will post next week unless someone beats me to it.

Every day I look around, and if nobody is shooting at me, it is a pretty good day.

Not easy but it's done.
With the help from Daniel at Ricambi I just saved a trip to the dealer and a few hundred at leastin labor.
The brake rachet assembly was slightly bent from the brake lever getting whacked when it was in the up position. New part ordered from Ricambi.

Thanks Taz for your reply.

I saw Daniel posted the info for you so glad you got it. Daniel has saved my bacon multiple times. I would recommend asking him about a WSM. He might be able to help.
