Default Fire extinguisher

There is a black 2003 575 on EBay that has the factory fire extinguisher located in the trunk. Have not seen this before. Usually they are located on passenger floor next to door sill on both 550 and 575's I've seen. Curious whether this was optional or possibly a later location.

My guess is that it was relocated by a dealer.

Not sure it is very useful back there.

Actually I am pretty sure it is not.

Fire extinguishers are for battling your way out of a fire, not back in.

If there is a fire I am off to 7-11 looking for some marshmellows.

They are really handy for snagging ladies' clothing, but that is about it.

I am with Brian, if an aluminum body car starts burning, and is not a classic like the rejuvenated PF Spider with a steel body, let it burn.

One further question on the factory fire extinguishers.
Are they rechargeable?

Contemplating adding this option to my car (for looks apparently).
Thanks,

Bill- Will look at mine next time I take her out. Looks like the extinguisher has a charging port, but not 100% sure. The 575M WSM just shows how to mount it. Let me know if you want me to post those instructions. Should be no problem as long as your interior is one of the standard colors with no contrasting stitching so you can pick up a cover or have one made. Looks like there are tons of colors available from the 575M parts catalog, but the prices range from expensive to outrageous.

Thanks Taz. Think I may have stumbled over those installation pages in WSM you sent, but not sure.
The effort would be pursued through Ferrari ads, EBay and similar. Ferrari probably values them a little higher than I can.
The 360/550/575 generation extinguishers all look to be the same as do the mounts and covers depending on the colors obviously.

Bill- Affirmative, I looked in the old WSM I had before I got a complete one, and the instructions are in there.

not a terrible option as many shows require one onboard, if that is what you are into.

Bill- Looks like it can indeed be recharged.
