I've been looking at the "stance" of my 550, which has been lowered somewhat, and am thinking to balance its heights out a bit better. Currently its stance gives the appearance of being lower in the front than the rear, and indeed there's less tire "gap" showing in the front wheel wells than the rear. Some of this is illusory from the styling of the car, but some is real, as the front was lowered more than the rear, generally following Ferrari's "racing" setup, but not quite as extreme. While I liked the stance a lot initially, now I think I'd like for it to be more balanced looking front to rear. So, I'd like to compare the heights of two points on my car to other owners' 550/575's to see how their cars are setup. These aren't the "true" ride height measurement points taken from the wishbone bushings to the ground, but instead are some easily reachable points that can be measured without having to get dirty ![]() For example, the leading edge of my front lip measures 5 3/4" inches to the ground and the bottom edge of my rear valence (under the exhaust tips) is 8 3/4". John- The 575M front bumper/spoiler is so different I do not think 575 readings will do you much good. At least one 550 owner replaced his 550 bumper with a 575M bumper for more ground clearance. Even the ride height measurements at the flanblocks are different because of the difference in shock absorbers and mounts. The rear bumpers may be more similar and the height on mine is 9 1/2". Thanks Taz, I was wondering if the model change from 550 to 575 affected the front lip height. Now I know It'll be interesting to see where others' front lips are '99 550, Rosso Corsa / Nero, S/N:114654, Assy: 31836, Engine: 52084 High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars. |
