A few days back I got the car out for a spin, and what do you know, overheating again while warming up parked. This time however, the fans started operating, but the temp continued rising. So I shut it down to allow cooling. And it did, but there was a loud "ping" coming from the water reservoir while waiting. So after cooling down, I opened it up and I could see water inside, but just not sure about the depth. So I topped it up with a bit of Glycoshell (maybe not even half a liter), and started her up. The temperature stabilized at 90șc, and the noise from the reservoir was gone. Simple or what? The problem is that we can't see the actual water level in that thing, so you can be fooled by thinking it's got all the water it needs. ... racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting... (Steve McQueen / Le Mans) |
