Hi Guys Haven't posted here in a while. I started to get bored with my cars and sold my 365bb a couple of years back and my 246 about a year ago. Anyhoo, starting to get the bug back and I think a 550 must just be the car for me. With the current exchange rate, buying a 550 in the UK and then shipping back to Australia is looking attractive. So I've started to look around a bit. Quite like the Nero 550 on offer at Nick Cartwright, but emailed them yesterday and apparently someone has just put down a deposit. Would be grateful if you guys could give me an indication what sort of money 550's in top condition are changing hands for and if you might know of any other good examples for sale Cheers Greg Greg Current: 365GTC/4 #15709 Previously: 246GTS #07772, 365GT4/BB #17915 |

Hey Greg, will be great to welcome you back to the fray and as an owner of 365 Boxer and 550 myself I think you'll love the 550. Quite a difference, though! Money-wise, the 575's are very attractive in the UK right now but I prefer the 550 myself. It's a marginal difference either way, though. Happy hunting (sorry I don't have any leads for you)! Onno |

Just an update After spending some time looking at 550's here in Aus and having a couple of people look at some cars in the UK (thank you Boxer) I ended up finding a car - except its not a 550 I saw an ad for a 365GTC/4 in our local club magazine and had not much to do on a saturday morning, so I went and had a look. It was love at first sight and the deal was done there and then. I'm just getting a few little things tidied up before I bring her home and I'll take some pics and post them up. Funny how things work out........

Funnily enough my first post on this fantastic forum was whether to go for a 550 or a 365 GTC/4, as back in August 2007 they could be had for similar money in Europe. After terrific, informed responses I went for a 308 GTB vetroresina...Would still like to add one of these sublime Ferrari's to the stable one day. Looking forward to seeing the pictures and hearing about your ownership experiences. Last edited by Vitalone; 07-30-2010 at 12:01 AM. Reason: got the date wrong, it was 2007 not 2008 |

Congrats. I seriously looked at a 365 GTC/4 earlier this year and might have gone for it if it had been in a bit better condition. Lovely cars to drive.
