All, finally getting back into Ferrari ownership in 2 weeks time with a 550. Been lurking on forums for the l;ast 2 years and could not put it off any longer. Thanks to the credit crunch i cannot see the cars ever getting this good value again, so i have taken the plunge. Hope the experience proves to be as good as i have read about.I think they are fantastic!
The car is a argento with bordeaux leather.First registered in manchester in november 1999, and has the same colour roof lining (was that an option?)Mileage is just approaching 27k, and she is fitted with a tubi. When it was started i had to stop myself getting the check book out there and then it sounded so good. The car is now having a full service prior to collection (by me!!!) on the 15th of october.Christmas really is coming early this year!!!

Well, congrats from Holland too! Great colour combo. Let's see some pics!

550's are awesome, you won't be disappointed. The roof lining is normally colour coded with the leather used for the trim of doors and other bits, so should be bordeaux in your car. You could have it stitched with a diamond pattern as an option, in which case the rear shelf would also be stitched in the same pattern. It was named 250GT after the stitching used in the old 250GT/L (aka Lusso) model.

Mine has a Tubi too, and I like it a lot.

Thank you! The car is currently missing the red key fob but i will manage. It is not too much of a big deal and the rest of the car is in great condition. I will try and put a couple of pics up, but being technophobic it probarbly will not work

Congratulations. Good call on getting the service done before collection. Very hard to let go for few days post collection. 27k miles on a 550 means it is just getting broken in.

The missing red fob IS an issue if you ever lose your other key. You will need to replace the entire module at great expense.

Congrats! Looks - and sounds I presume! - like a great car (though pics are a tad smallish). "Service before collection" is my motto as well, did exactly the same on my 328. As Boxer rightly remarks above, once you're (back) behind the wheel there's probably no letting go...

Congrats,
It's going to be a long 2 weeks. I don't think I slept a wink in the 2 weeks from paying my deposit to collecting my 360!

The red fob missing is not too bad. In the UK you just need to show the v5(registration document) at the main dealer, and prove you are the owner, then they get a full set ordered.Costs about £250 all in, the module replacement is not needed. There are a number of guys in the uk who have done this.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Still do not pick her up for a week,. On inspection they found a rear tyre slashed, and the brake reservoir had a slight weep. Both have now been replaced. A spare key/immobiliser is on its way from the main dealer but is a 10 day wait. All it needs now is collection on the 15th! It is currently sharing garage space with a 275gts/4 NART spider, the ex moss 250 gt swb that won the tourist trophy in 1961(i think), another 250gt swb and jay kay of singing/dancing fame's miura s.v. They are all in Terry Hoyles workshop.Hopefully today the dealer will collect the car and take it back to his barn, where i can collect ready for the 200 mile drive home, tick tick tick!

Great pictures and the wait must be horrible. Is that Simon Kidston's 275 NART Spider?
