Jimmy, I received your PM alright, but I can't answer it! Apparently I'm not allowed to store private messages for some reason, maybe because I didn't post on the forum yet?
Anyway, would you be kind enough to send me another PM with your email address so I can reach you? I would call you, but my English is a little rusty and I'm not so comfortable on the phone!
I have been reading your posts about your 275 and how and why you let it go, and you seem like a very nice and sensible person, I hope we can meet some time and chat a little!

I can't believe there was such an incredible car in Yokohama all this time. I really wished I had seen it in the flesh (alloy?)! Your collection is stunning, I'm so glad to see there are some people interested in vintage Ferrari in this country! It gives me hope to see, one day, a red Daytona in the streets of Tokyo (yes, forgot to tell you I lived in Tokyo)! Thank you for driving those machines around!

    All the best,

    Franck

We were wondering if it was a mistake from Ferrari, or if the car was actually different from other normal 275GTB (knowing it was not a 275GTB/C, which show obvious differences), and in an attempt to find out more about his car, I posted a message on Ferrarichat. I don't want to post the link here, since this is a competitor forum, but you might find it easily if you search for 275GTC.
The latest things I heard, is that there were actually 3 cars with this marking. 8457, 8465 and another one, that the factory is saying to be in Japan. I don't know the number for this Japanese car, and I was just wondering if you may have heard about it. This story is really interesting, and the Japanese owner of the 3rd car may be interested in knowing more about his car. Ferrari Classiche is now investigating about it as I speak, and they should give their definitive answer about this case in about a month from now.
You should know that all three cars are steel bodies, 3 carbs and long nose.

    Hello Jimmy,
My name is Franck (or Furanku in Katakana, as you might have guessed), and as I was searching for information about 275 in Japan, I found your threads about the one you used to own. I can't seem to find a way to send you a private message, so I'm posting here, but the public nature of this "visitor message" thing will not allow me to tell you everything I'd like to, and may also prevent you from answering my questions. I also found out the messages are limited to 1000 characters, I will need to divide my message in 3 different posts, sorry for that!

Well, here is the thing. One of my friends back in France owned a 275 for 35 years. He just sold it, but what's interesting about this car is that the chassis stamp was not 275GTB, but 275GTC.

Thank You for your kind thoughts, Jeoen. I shall take a look as suggested.

As for the broker/dealer in France, it was rather snotty, I thought. They sent me a reply to which I asked for the chassis number and the response was that since the car is of such high value, I must pay deposit first (which was something like above 20% of the value) for them to tell me the chassis number. Their quoted price was something like 790,000 Euro !!! Thanx again. w/ smiles Jimmy
