Hello,

Champagne 612 (Doug) tells me that to get the tag changed to Owner I first have to post here.

Some will have already noticed me in the pre-Fiat area and in the Midwest section. Others may already be aware of me from the other www.

Have 1985 308GTSi QV 54573. Prugna with Crema. Information has been posted here and with Wade's QV site.

I am the FCA Missouri and Southern Illinois Chapter newsletter editor.

Jeff

Jeff- It is pretty easy. Andrew just has to notice or you can send him a PM. I am not sure if Boxer can attach the owner tag or not.

Hi Jeff
Don't think I've ever seen a 308 in that colour. Very nice. Belated welcome to FL.

Prugna (306C metallic) is a less common color but was a regularly available choice. It is very sensitive to lighting conditions as it will change from a mid tone burgundy to near purple during the day and cloud conditions.

I might want to give a little more insight into my Ferrari-ness. Way, way back in the mid to later 1970's I was a student at Art Center College of Design. This was clearly the #1 school for car design in the world then. As the school was located in Los Angeles we had lots of access to assorted interesting cars in the area - back then people actually drove their Ferraris. A regular hang-out for some of us was the Hollywood Sports Cars service center on Gower that was primarily for Ferraris. This was also where the organizers for the LA Auto Show would keep the exotic show cars before and after the show.

During that timespan I became heavily involved with the Ferrari Owners Club. All of that led to keeping and having use of 250 LM 5909 for 2 something months. Did an article for Autoweek on that car. Later updated the article for the FOC quarterly.

My career path did not lead into Detroit. I do design and project management for custom interiors of VIP jets.

Bout time you stepped up

Jeff I know you are entrenched in the other www and I appreciate you coming over in any capacity.

As you know my story as well as anyone here - I am not just here to be here.

It is an enjoyable forum with a growing number of owners and enthusiasts.

The Ferrari Life experience needs guys like you stepping up and spending time to ensure that others can also feel part of a great community.

You are now part of the growing process and hope you enjoy the place ... no pressure.

Good seeing you on the wine run .. btw it was all a trick you won't get the owners tag til you bring 5 more owners or enthusiasts

Jeff- Owner did not take long. The 250 LM is my favorite Ferrari. Would love to read your articles if you have scans or pdfs you can post here. David E Davis' acticle in C&D on the 250 LM was one of my favorites.

Very pretty 308 and it looks like they are hatching in one of those photos.

Did this a few months back for our FCA St. Louis newsletter. This is the long version which is on the website - a short version was in the paper copy that was mailed.

It was an absolute blast to drive.

Jeff- That is great, thanks. Plus it is a short nose, my favorite. I sold all my Ferrari books in the mid 90s and the only one I wish I had kept is Marcel's LM book.

Welcome Jeff. I've seen 1 other 308 in a very similar color but it was not represented as prugna. Didn't look quite as deep as yours either and perhaps a little more to the red side of the chart. perhaps they were just close and the translation gets lost with photography. I imagine its spectacular in person.

Hi Jeff, welcome to FLife!

Keep an eye on those car keys, I fell in love with your car pics.
That is an awesome color combo.
I'm insanely jealous right now and miss my old 308 (sera blue).

Hope you enjoy the neighborhood, lots of good people over here.

BTW, I have an appt w/my dentist this Friday to get my teeth fixed, maybe a haircut and shave in the process.
