Default New guy outside of Atlanta Ga

Hey there folks!

I'm Jay from Acworth, GA and I just picked up a '76 308 GT4 that I'll be working on over the winter (and presumably years after). Looking forward to reading more and more about the cars and networking for parts. Here's a picture as she sits now, not much to write home about but still nice to know I have one.

Thanks

Jay

Welcome Jay.
Congrats on your new aquisition. Never seen at GT4 with 2 tone Boxer paintwork. Do you know if it came from the factory like that or was it a done after? Some more pics would be good when you get the chance...

Jay,

My first ever Ferrari ride was in a red 308 GT4, so I have a real soft spot for them. A good 40 years ago, I remember that ride like it was yesterday.

Congrats, you're going to love the car.

I had a GT4 with the same colour combo.
It was fun to drive.

I have seen a few boxer paint jobs but mine appears to be a repaint. I pulled the door panel and I could see the remnants of a dark purple/magenta color. It had an interested look to it but I like the red/black better. When it gets resprayed I'll make the decision then. As far as more pics go, this is the most flattering picture I have of it. It needs a lot of cosmetics and I am going to be doing them myself for the most part. Emblems I have on order and I'm starting the body work on it now.

One thing that I do need to do is find another wheel. I have 3 14x7.5 in wheels and 1 14 x 6.5 inch wheel. It was put on to roll it around but I need to either have it staggered or 7.5 all around.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.

Jay- Welcome and that is a very pretty car. You might look into finding a set of the 16" wheels fitted to the 308 GTB/S unless you want to stick with the OEM wheels. They were 8" in the rear and 7" in the front and came with 205/55 16 and 225/50 16 tires. There are also some repro wheels for those original magnesium wheels that look pretty good.

Welcome to the group

Be great to see some more pictures of the GT4 ... doesn't matter if it's perfect or a rust bucket.

Enjoy the adventure

I bought my first Ferrari 308 GT4 back in 1992. It came with 16 wheels.
This is a picture at the track . I tracked the car many times and had a great time.
Thanks
Alex.

Alex, Jay- That Boxer paint definitely dresses up a GT4 and brings out the car's attractive lines.

You own the only car that had the distinction of having two different names, first as the Dino 308 GT4 and then as the Ferrari 308 GT4.

Alex,

That is good motiviation for me to get this car where I want it. The 16s look great on it as well. I want to keep the 14s just to have that "when sports cars had 70 series tires" look.

Thanks for the links as well guys.

Jay,
Was the original color prugna? If so, I beg you to return this beauty to it's original glory. Prugna was an amazing color, and a rare one too.
