Ferrari Aficionados,
I'm in the market for a 360 Spider, 2001-present. My budget is between 70-80K. There is one I've come across that is gorgeous, but the miles!! It's a daily-driven vehicle with 52,213 miles and is in excellent condition. It's a 2004. Records for the vehicle are present.

Question:
Simply, is this just too many miles depsite accurate service records?

Thanks.

I like higher mileage cars IF they have been serviced properly. Somehow, just without even knowing the car in question that with a proper inspection it might be a good one to truly consider.

but, that the internet for you....it's just a feeling but ....

BTW: Welcome. keep asking. more will have much on the particulars of the 360 more directly than my regurgitation from reading endless materials.

generally speaking, that would be considered very high miles. It should be reflected in the sales price and will almost certainly be reflected in the resale price. Something to consider. It really depends on what you plan for the car. If you are going to drive it and not sell it anytime soon, or you don't care about depreciation, it might be a good idea if you can get it cheap. Personally, i would get one of the other 98% that have less than 20k on them.

Granucci,wetpet- Thanks for the replies. I've seen other vehicles for sale that have around 15K-30K miles which gives me more peace of mind. I plan on driving this car. I mean really driving it (Fri-Sun). And I don't plan on a resale.

Question: Does anyone have a web link to a mileage service (ie. 15K miles service, 30k miles service, and beyond 30k miles.)?

Thanks, again.

Mufasa,

If this is the Gotham vehicle in NJ, I say run and run fast. That car was a rental, hence the high milage and why they call it a daily driver. Even with the records, you can almost garantee the car has been driven VERY hard. That they had to do an "engine out" service for a major service (the 360 shouldn't need that) makes me even more supicious.

That car does have all the desired bells and whistles. So if it passes a very thourough PPI and had a new clutch as part of the engine out, it may be worth the asking price. Else, it's overpriced and you're far better off looking for one as Wetpet describes. With so many on the market right now and prices still dropping, there's very little reason to buy that car unless it was a steal.

+1 on driven cars by original or second private owner with proper service. Always be careful of the rental models out there.

Thanks everyone. It is a rental and I think the location is in NJ. I think peace of mind will go a long way so I will be better of with lower miles ranging from 15K-30K miles. You guys have been very helpful and I look forward to future correspondence.

Mufasa- If you go to this web site, you can download a 360 owners manual that has the maintenence schedule and you can also download a workshop manual and a gig of other 360 data that will keep you busy for quite a while.

Most of us can tell you off the top of our heads what is required, but better to read it yourself.

Thanks Taz- good looking out. Everyone on the forum has been great. I was hesitant to join because I'm not an owner....yet. The education is greatly appreciated.

Mufasa- We all started out as non-owners, so you have the right idea of learning all you can before you pick up a Ferrari. When I bought my first one in 1975, there were very few ways to learn except to jump straight in. The internet is a great learning tool.

Are you going to A&M?
