Default Testarossa-Servicing

Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and am hoping to be a ferrari owner soon. The car I am looking at is a 1989 Testarossa which received a full major service back in 2005. It was kept as part of a collection and was only driven 500 miles since then. I have been reading that major servicing should take place every 5 years and my question is since the machine has barely been driven does it have to go through the full servicing again?
Thanks
Mark

Yes.

When the cars sit the rubber dries, hardens and loses it's flexibility. The gaskets and seals dry and harden and will leak pretty good once they start seeing warm temperatures, expansion and contraction and pressure being applied.

The engine oil, gear box oil and brake/clutch fluid all absorb moisture as time goes on and need to be flushed out.

Sometimes the belt tensioners stick in whatever position they've been sitting in and won't operate correctly causing belt failures.

Not all of this is set in stone and applies to every car in every situation but it's a lot of variables and for what it costs to rebuild a damaged engine...it's well worth servicing.

Will definitely need a full engine out cambelt service and likely also a new set of tires.
