Default Norwood Euro 308qv Introduction

Hi all,

There was a request to view some pics of my car so to avoid hijacking the amazing 308 V-12 thread, I will post my info here. My Ferrari is a 1983 Norwood Turbo Euro 308qv with 400hp and a plethora of mods.

Most recently my nephew and I did the complete suspension with QA-1, 400 lb Eibach front springs and 350 lb rear, new bushings, custom rear control arms (the stock ones cracked from extra hp) after market sway bars, new tie rods, ball joints, rack bushings, upgraded brakes, rebuilt rear calipers, Girodisc rear rotors, stainless steel brake lines, and all new hardware and powdercoated parts.

Engine Internals

• Custom J&E pistons with ceramic coating and Teflon coating on skirts
• Ferrari Nikasil piston liners with stainless steel ring for high boost
• Custom copper head gaskets
• TotalSeal Stainless steel gapless rings
• ARP bolts though out
• All bearings replaced

Engine externals

• Single T3 Garrett turbo with ceramic coating on exhaust turbine housing
• Custom liquid to air intercooler with high flow electric circulating pump
• Custom stainless steel headers and wastegate pipes ceramic coated
• Single Turbonectics wastegate adjustable from 4 -16 psi
• All hoses stainless steel Aeroequip and high temperature silicone hoses
• Custom aluminum intake plenum gasket with captive o-rings
• Powdered coated heads, intercooler, timing belt cases etc…
• Dual high flow fuel pumps
• Intake plenum modified for turbo application
• Intake runner modified for high flow injectors
• Custom Fuel rail and high flow injectors

Engine Management

•Halteck E-6K E6K Kit

Cooling System:

• Twin High flow electric cooling fans
• All Custom aluminum pipes ceramic coated and insulated to reduce cabin temp
• All hoses are silicon high temp racing hoses

Gearbox and Clutch:

• Norwood kevlar clutch disc
• Heavy duty pressure plate
• Billet lightweight flywheel

The car was featured in 2006 April Forza edition. The car is a blast to drive!

All the best!

Paul

Paul,

Fantastic, car looks awesome. With 400 bhp in a 308 those upgraded brakes are a must! Did you do most the work yourself?

Welcome to Ferrari Life
Thanks guys for the compliments and warm welcome.

Andrew I did all of the suspension work myself with my Nephew Paul. I had lots of telephone and email help from fellow F-car folks and I am appreciative of that!

The car was shipped to Dallas and James Patterson of Norwood Performance did the R&R of the engine with the upgrades. Bob Norwood personally tuned the car and I must say both James and Bob are true professionals and extremely good at what they do! Bob Norwood's shop made the rear a-arms out of 4130 chromoly steel that are similar to the 288 GTO design but beefier and re-enforced in the critical areas. I will try to find some pics of those.

Zachary Mayne of Forza enjoyed driving the car and is going to do a follow up article with my new suspension and ball-bearing setup. It spools faster now and pulls even harder to redline. She runs on only 100 octane race gas!

Cheers

Paul

I'm a huge fan of the 308s - had an '82 & an '83 QV. A little extra power is always welcome too! Awesome post and great photos. Thanks for sharing.
