Default It's a boy!

After having been registered on this forum for some time now I think it is time for a proper introduction. To the people that have read the most recent Ferrari Life magazine: I'm the girl from the Goodwood Revival story. But for you all I'll give you a bit more info on me.

My father gave me the love of cars, he was not a very good driver nor did he own very exclusive or expensive cars; but he was always very proud of whatever car he had. Mind you, he changed cars at least every 2 years. What I learned for him is that you can get feeling of total freedom when driving which is even enhanced by my current daily ride.

As with my father also my past there were “others”, a Renault Megane (yellow), a Seat Leon (yellow), a BMW 325i convertible, just to name a few. But after being contaminated with the Ferrari virus I just knew I had to start looking for “one of those”.

I had the opportunity to drive a 308 GT4 for some time and really enjoyed that very much. The downside of the car however, was that it was really hard work. And since I’m just a little girl (5 foot something) I knew I would enjoy something easier to drive better. When I had the chance to buy for one myself I knew it had to be more of a ladies car (sorry if I offend anybody here). I only had 2 requirements:
1- It had to be a convertible or at least GTS
2- It had to be yellow.

And when I found my “baby” I was over the moon. A 328 GTS (Giallo) from 1987. For some of you this may sound strange, but the car to me is a boy and not a girl. I’ve had discussions about this with people who knew the car for some time already, but I stick to my point. He’s just too good and too reliable to me to be a woman ;-). In the 14 months we’ve been together he’s never let me down yet! I’ve put just under 20.000 kilometres on it since last year and have only noticed that the more I drive it the better it gets. Yes, it is my daily ride. So anytime you're looking for somebody to join you on a trip, let me know because it is very unlikely that I'll say no!

Eve, welcome to FLife, a 328 GTS is a perfect first Ferrari, it's what I had too. Please post some pics. T1f will be very jealous, a giallo 328 GTS is his dream. Don't worry about it being a boy or girl car, it can be whatever you want
Not sure I'd say a '87 328 is a ladies car ;-) , there's no power steering and the gearbox can be a bit of a challenge.
Enjoy it

Welcome to the site and continue to enjoy that wonderful ride. 20K in a year. Sounds like your using her....er...him as a daily. Gonna be hard to change our minds about gender. Its been a long time since I saw a man with such beautiful curves.

Hi Eve,

Great story! But you do have me in doubts about my own 328 now:

Superficially, emotionally guess I peg the car as a "she" (you know: the elegant lines, high spirit, etc. etc.). Then again, at the same time the 328 sure is a trusted friend, a buddy to venture into the great unknown with, and so forth, a "he" in other words.

Then again, frankly, I don't care: it (a useful, albeit rather functional compromise!) is a great, great car! But I don't think I need to convince you with 20k on the clock in one year. That's impressive!

Cheers,
Irvin

Pleasantly surprised, I must admit this is the second yellow car within a few days time that really impresses me (first one of course being Jimmy's 275 GTB 275GTB #08191 Test Drive Report)

welcome, and those last two pics are very nice, natural, and display well.

BTW: makes sense to name think of it as a him, we are more generic in our approach: neither him, nor her, perhaps both... and I'm not saying why...but could go with the story she and I both drive it....our story, sticking to it.

interesting it is not a Euro version.

Welcome Eve P! I was fortunate enough to be passenger in Eve P's superb 328 GTS blasting to and from the Goodwood Revival. After a disappointing test drive in a 328 GTS 12 years ago (the dealer selling the 328 offered to accept my Dino 246gt plus some loot for the 328 before values of the Dino rocketed), this immaculate and well set up yellow 328 driven with vigour showed me that the 328 is a wonderful Ferrari. Cruising in a yellow GTS in the sun with the roof off and driven by a lovely blonde young lady. La dolce vita!

Hey Eve, good to see you over here! It was great seeing your 328 on the roads of Europe, last time to Goodwood. Are we going next year?

Welcome Eve to the group and Ferrari Life (pun intended).

I suggest you name him "Adam" and replace the cavallino ramparte badges with an apple for obvious reasons. Adam and Eve - nice.

He is a He, no doubt in my mind.

Despite the curvaceous side view, Adam's back end looks like a muscled brute. Squatting aggressively as you punch the throttle at full bore.

No sissified girl would make a deep throated growl like that, right?

Thanks, didn't take the pictures myself though.

And wow what a great car that 275 GTB is!

You're right it is an imported version, it has been altered a bit though and it's funny to see how much individual cars can differ even if you put 2 European 328's next to eachother, the details on the car can be different.

Great pics Eve, I've never seen a giallo 328 GTS before, is that it's original colour? The colour really suits the lines of the car. I've always prefered rosso 328's, but you may have converted me.

Thank you Vitalone! It is a remarkable car in deed and very well maintained by the previous owner.

Thanks JazzyO, my studyschedule permitting I would certainly like to join you to Goodwood again. This does mean more outfits to find, cause I cannot show up wearing the same thing twice of course ;-)

Thanks 360 Modena, and you're right, I have not come across any girls (besides the one's I've just seen in Thailand) that can growl like that indeed.

Thanks archiegibbs, the colour is original and as said I have a thing for yellow cars. I do have to admit that it suits the older models better than the new one's in my humble opinion.
