Default Hello to all Ferrari owners

Hello to everyone on the webboard. I'm a car enthusiast and like all kinds of cars. I'm a member of Delorean Club of Florida and been learning all about them from local owners as much as possible. I hope to own one one day. I'm also a fan of Ferrari's even though the maintance costs are crazy. My friend took me for a ride in his 85 308 GTS QV. It was my 1st time in a Ferrari and I loved it! I felt like Magnum PI. Is the carberated 308s easier to maintain than the fuel injected models?

Welcome to FLife. Not sure I agree on the comment on maintenance costs. They can be quite reasonable, especially if you can do a bit of the work yourself.

Default Ciao & Welcome to FL

I always had a soft spot for Deloreans if it had not been so underpowered it might of gotten the respect it deserves.

My friend has one with custom twin turbo that moves pretty good. I think it does 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. Not a world class beater, but I'll take it!

Me also, I believe that will still be a nice car to collect, as the prices are NOT that bad.

Minor issues and it is about as good as new.

as for the maintenance, I would prefer the 328 late series, GTS with ABS...but that's just me.

Welcome to Flife, thanks for posting your pics.

Don't believe the myths about Ferrari maintenance. I have owned a late model 328 GTS and a late model 308 GTS qv, neither have had any reliability issues and servicing has been very kind on the wallet so far.

Delorean?

I have a Delorean story. They approached me to supply the steering wheels but I refused. I supplied Bricklin and Delorean had seen them on the Bricklin.

Delorean was very advanced in that he wanted an air bag in the wheel but that required expensive alterations to the mounting hub and the steering rim. So, I refused and boy was I smart to have refused.

Oh, and BTW, they did want the horn to go toot, toot, toot!!!

Indeed, John DeLorean's plans to build a car were foiled!

I met another Ferrari 308 owner this past weekend. Awesome car. Little of a snug fit, but I enjoyed it!
