We thought that our first contribution to FerrariLife should fittingly be a Ferrari... and we think we found a special one. What do you think? Click here for more pictures and information. ![]() This mythical Ferrari 250 Tour de France left the factory on the 30th of March 1958 with a Scaglietti-body and covered headlamps. At its steering wheel several renowned pilots successfully participated in numerous races. Amongst the 37 Ferrari 250 Berlinetta Passo Longo (which means long chassis), more commonly known as Tour de France, this is the one that has collected most prizes. Partially dismantled in 1960 the car was restored in Maranello in 1987. Most of the parts used are original, except engine block and the aluminum body work. The current owner participated in several historic events (5 times French Tour Auto, 3 times Mille-Miglia etc.). Today the car is in good mechanical condition despite 23 years and 32,000 Km since the restauration. The brakes and the starter were entirely rebuilt in 2008. The carburetors in 2010. No important expenses need to be planned for the car in the near future. The bodywork has never been repainted since it left Bacchelli and Villa, only toutch-up. The body is in perfect condition; absolutely rust free and do not require any work.. The upholstery is nice and has a beautiful patina. The car has been partially certified by Ferrari in July 2008. A complete certification is a possible option once the car has been fitted with it's original matching number engine Ferrari Classiche already agreed to sell. |

Beautiful car and the paint scheme is really attractive. Glad to see she will be reunited with her original engine. Were there any SWB TdF cars? I thought they were all LWB. | You are right, these are only LWB's. Over the time span of 5 years they had 4 different chassis construction one stiffer than the previous one.
