I'm trying to finish the 250LM I have two sources that are in conflict. One says that S/N 6045 is a 250LM another say it is a 275 Lemans. Does anyone know the truth of this S/N? Is this a rebodied 250 or 275? Clues? Help? Thanks!

The 250 LM #6045 is well one 275 LM but as all the others 250 LM except the first specimen of 250 LM #5149 which it had standard engine 3 litre type 128LM/63, one continue to named the 250 LM whereas does they of it are 275 LM. From the second specimen built #5841 the engine is the 3.3 standard litre type 211 thus 275 and that is valid for all the others. #5149 : 1963 - 3 litre engine - only one engine type 128LM/63 later type 211. ... ho dedicato la mia vita all\' automobile: una conquista di liberti per l\'uomo [Enzo Ferrari] http://membres.lycos.fr/scuderiacc/Pics/FT2.jpg |

Andrew, to make it simple: The car you mention (as with all 250 LMs except for the prototype s/n 5149) was built with the 275 engine, but was officially called the "250 Le Mans Berlinetta" in an attempt by SF to homologate these cars as modified 250 GTs (as had been accomplished with the GTO), hence the odd serial numbers assigned to the cars as well. |

#6045? If I remember right, there are currently two cars claiming to be "6045". In 2000, one of the cars was shown at the Cavallino Classic, while the other was for sale at the dealership Munsterhuis in The Netherlands. I believe the first one was eventually sold by Symbolic Motor Car Company, but I don't have all details here .... Greetings, Edvar
