Default Mondial Speciale sold

last friday during the Christies auction at Le Mans Classic the Mondial T Speciale PPG Pace car got sold s/n 76390
the car was up for sale with no reserve and an estimate between €40.000-80.000 and actually sold for €70.500, not bad for a car that isn't street legal
i thought this car was in the hands of the factory?? anybody know this for certain?
after checking out the car i did noticed that there wasn't much room in the engine bay, neither did i find a telaio plate in there, and looking at the the vin plate on the steering column was also very strange, the plate looked to be made from a different kind of material then usual.

also i wonder what they did when they needed to work on the engine, really no room at all there, maybe they have to remove it everythime they wanna work on it

Prototype VIN, nice. I think it is the same material, but not a standard text on it
