options for transport companies in USA

I purchased my first Ferrari a few weeks ago.
I purchased a 2007 F430 from Ohio. So excited and cant wait to get it out here to California.

But I am not thrilled about the experience with InterCity so far.
I read all positive things about them on here and saw the number that Kim had posted. This swayed me to using them instead of the company the dealer was recommending.

But I am still waiting......

July 1 - contacted Intercity
July 5 - faxed back signed contract
July 6 - placed in queue to get car picked up
July 7 - Asked Roy for an estimated pick up date
July 8 - Roy mentioned it would take another 7-12 days based on drivers availability and loading
July 21 - reached back out to Roy at Intercity. Was told possibly next week it could be picked up.
July 25 (today) - still nobody has confirmed a pick up date.

25 days after I initially contacted them I still dont have an idea of when its going to be picked up.
I already have the title to the car that arrived at my home in California a few weeks ago.

I may give them until mid-week to confirm a date.
Anyone else have any recommendations for a solid transport company?
I hate to have to go to the back of the queue for another company but I need to draw the line with InterCity. I feel I have been more then patient.

Thanks in advance for any help...

Understand the anxiety to get the car, but I don't see anything in the timeline to get worried about.
The month before Pebble Beach is one of the busiest times for auto transport.
I suspect most good companies will have similar schedules.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

First congratulations on your purchase, you will love having the F430. Intercity has a few transports which are very well maintained and driven by good drivers. The will not simply pick up your car and drive it back to you. The transport needs to be filled for them to stay in business. I also had to wait but once you understand how the transport business works you become more understanding. Your other option was go with a broker and he would put out to bid your car's transport and pick the cheapest and quickest option available. I don't think you would want to risk your car with some transport that maybe getting 2/3 of what you are paying. Be patient and feel assured that your car will show up without any damage.

Good morning Mindalter,

I apologize for the longer than expected wait and am glad we are getting it picked up today.

Being a carrier it is difficult to predict with 100% certainty a pick up date.

There are a lot of variables that can unexpectedly affect our schedule from weather, traffic, mechanical, customer changes, etc.

We always try to do our best to give you an accurate wait time and apologize if there was a miscommunication about it being an estimate.

Luckily, by the end of today your new Ferrari will be comfortable and safe in our trailer heading your way!

You will being hearing from the driver within 24 hours of him picking it up today and you can rest assure that it will be in good hands during transport.

Sincerely,
The Intercity Lines Team

I was not trying to use the forum as an escalation tool. I was just concerned that the pick-up timeline wasn't inline with my expectations. And my expectations were purely set by others stories here and the initial email from Intercity.

ANYWAYS, thank you Intercity team for the positive updates here.
And great news that my car will be on its way today.

I will give feedback here on the important stuff, transport of the Ferrari once the car arrives.
Just in case there are others on the forum looking for info.

And photos of the car!!

My F430 finally arrived. What an exciting feeling watching it roll off the truck.

Following through here with my overall assessment of the transport from Intercity:

Timeliness of transportation = C (YMMV)
Driver = A (courteous, called me every few days with updates, Extremely careful unloading the car)
Transport Truck = A (Nice truck w/lift, low risk getting cars in and out)
Price = A (very reasonable for the actual transport

Overall very pleased once the car was picked up and on its way.
It actually was picked up on a Wednesday and delivered the following Monday.

The only complaint was the 25 days waiting for pick up.
