opinions on Rosso Dino

I am slowly looking for a F430 with a goal to find and buy before this summer 2016.

I am stuck between a red with Cuoio or Grigio Silverstone with Red.

But then I came across this 2008 Rosso Dino F430.

I am curious what others think?
Looks good, but maybe not to own?
I do not think it would impact the resale, but maybe how long it takes to sell.

Rosso Dino is a beautiful paint color from the 70s. My Dino 246 GT was Rosso Dino and everybody loved it. If you search, there are 458s here in Rosso Dino, ordered that way because the owner loved that color. Go for it.

Are you buying the car because you are passionate about the car or as an investment? Based on how you answer that question I think you can come to a decision. Good luck.

I don't give a wit about resale.
By the time I'm done with the Spider, hopefully there won't be anything left. Of it or me.

If you like the color, go for it.

All great answers. I love it. I keep coming back to this car and love the look of the color.

I need to figure out a strategy.

Do I fly down to AZ from the bay area to look at the car?
Should I negotiate a sales price first then work on PPI and re-negotiate if PPI finds anything that needs taken car of?

Kim, I remember you mentioned using someone from SF ferrari for your PPI for your purchase?

My car was in North Carolina. I hired a guy out of Virginia to drive up. I believe there are some good Ferrari mechanics/techs in Arizona. Ask on the board and have them take a look. It is worth spending a a few 1000s to make sure your multiple 1000s purchase is good.

Go read my thread under pre-purchase. What I did was have the car checked out first. Once it checked out then I discussed price.
I bought my car without driving it first; but the tech put the car through its rigors before I flew out.

Good luck, I know the excitement mixed with the nervousness with "Am I doing the right thing?" feeling and once you get the car you will be happier than a pig in mud.

i negotiated my price after reviewing all history and getting hi res images of all areas of the car that i asked for. Dealer and I negotiated preliminary price. I made travel arrangements and tentative PPI; pending my approval of car. Being my first Ferrari, i wanted to see it for myself and approve prior to the PPI. If i disliked for any reason, i walk and spend rest of time checking out other cars in the area. Good luck. The car looks great! I am a sucker for the rear challenge grill contrasting with red.

In that case you ought to buy it, without any shadow of a doubt. IMO it is gorgeous, but if you love it, you should buy it.

Yes. I did that when I bought my 911 and it worked a treat. First, the PPI cost less than it would have cost me to go and see it - small point but valid nevertheless. If I had gone to see it, I would probably have been wearing my rose-tinted spectacles, been out-negotiated on the price, and signed the cheque there and then. Instead, from a relatively detached position, I negotiated a good price to start with and then managed a further reduction after the PPI had been done.
