Quest not complete.. F430 on its way, taking too long!
The car was loaded on an Intercity Truck Monday Nov 24. I left the driver,Roger, a message yesterday inquiring when the came will arrive. I received a call back and Roger said earliest would be Dec 8th!
Question for California owners who have purchased a car from out of state. As I understand the car needs to be smogged before it can be registered. If I were to go to the DMV and provide the Title and submit the Title form would they give me a temp license? Or do I just risk driving it to the nearest Smog station?

Reason: photo needs to be rotated.
You can get a temporary moving permit to get the car to a smog station without hassle.
Don't forget the driver probably stopped to enjoy some Holiday time with his own family in between the journey, plus he'll be stopping to pick up and drop off other cars along the way. He won't be driving straight from point A to point B.
Josh I understand but as you know how long I have been on this you can appreciate some of my impatience. I check with the DMV on temp permit. I did talk to the driver last week and he told me to call him again this friday.
Al, yes the photo is side-ways I tried for some reason it comes up side ways.
May I point out that in California the DMV offices are generally over packed with people. Years ago I bought a AAA membership for the single reason to transfer auto registration. They do VIN Verification, out of state transfer, plates, tags, lost title. Just about all of what CA DMV can do other than Drivers License. My local AAA is maybe a 5 minute wait. In addition you can get a 30 day permit to drive after you pay your taxes.
Keith, I"m a AAA member and I first checked with the AAA office in San Jose. I was told they do not do the VIN verification and I needed to go to DMV and this was December. I had a week as I was flying out to see family for Christmas. The added pressure was that undocumented were being given licenses starting Jan 1 2015 and I did not want to be going to the DMV with massive lines. Luckily I was able to get everything sorted out before vacation.
