I am considerring buying a ferrari in the near future not sure of what model yet but problably an f430. my first question is if there is a quality difference in the caliper color not the color but the calipers them selves. Are some color calipers better than others? Also if you know of any good 430 deals please pm me. Thanks

Burgagni- Welcome to Ferrari Life. Caliper color is a personal choice. Black, aluminum and red seem to go with just about any color. Yellow looks great with Rosso Corsa and any of the darker colors including Titanium. Rosso Scuderia tends to look good with Rosso Scuderia, but that is only a personal opinion.

If you are asking which color is more durable, they are all about the same, but the lighter colors tend to show brake dust more. The calipers are all color painted, decals applied and a clear coat applied over that. The paint has proven to be very durable. The calipers are all identical except for paint and those with the monobloc 6 piston front CCM and 4 piston rear CCM brakes, which are painted the same way.

When you arrive at the thread first, there's just no room for additional info to be added. A quality, concise answer as always.

The proverbial cat, waiting to pounce on the new thread.

For what it's worth, I like yellow

Oh, and welcome to the FL Burgagni. You've just met one of our most knowledgeable and one of our least knowledgeable members. I'll let you work out who's who.

Barry- They all match. Plus when the wheel rotates, the Cavallino eventually gets back on his feet.

Actually, in all seriousness, ever seen the Rolls Royce that no matter what way the wheel is turned the RR sign is sitting in the correct way. I wonder would it be possible to manufactur a centre cap for a Ferrari (or any other car for that matter) that would do similar?

(Sh1t, shoulda patented that thought.... )

Barry- Let me see. X-37B, which I worked on, is now in orbit, so yes, we could probably do that, but it would increase unsprung weight. RR does not worry about unsprung weight too much, for some reason.
