Hello friends!
Great 2012 for everybody! Please forgive all my english writting mistakes.

I'm from Brazil and yesterday was the first time that i drove a ferrari and it was an amazing sensation!
Happened on a f355 berlinetta 1997,manual transm. The car is 45.000km.
I need your help because something strange happened when we were about 20 min of the test drive, at 5000rpm i had the sensation of a partial cut of power. The engine temp.was normal (90 celcius), and the owner of the car told me that it was normal on certains circunstances, especcially if we are at high rpm for short periods. He told me that the car have two fans, one for each blank of the engine and when the temp gets a little high the ecu cuts 4 cilinders.
Well, i don't know too much of ferrari engine but i do know something about mecanics. My 351c was rebuilted by myself...and it is running very strong!!
Anyway please if anyone can give me some info about this "failure" i appreciate.
Best regards,
Luiz penazzi

I'd like to know how the ecu knows which bank to cut off to cool the engine.

much more likely it's a hot cat.
