The wall door bumper pads are made from upholstery foam and then covered with black baize felt which was embroidered with the SF Badge logo. Saves the door edges banging off the walls and chipping - cost was circa $200 for the pair. Life never slows in paradise....it is just much more enjoyable! Its 2" upholsterers foam, once you've had it wrapped with the baize (felt) you simply use spray adhesive to stick it to the foam and then to the walls - it works a treat to save your doors edges and as with all good ideas it came about after I'd damaged a door edge on my Bentley ![]() here a close-up photo of the pads.... The red F430 is the F430 Spider I rejected which came from Charles Hurst, Belfast, I had them apply a Scud stripe to it pre delivery. My blue 16M is my one off colour Blu Abu Dhabi 16M that I've owned for the past 2 years. Life never slows in paradise....it is just much more enjoyable! | I did, I have F1 KPH (kilometres per hour) on my 16M and F1 MPG (miles per gallon) on my MC Stradale. I always put F1 plates on my Ferrari due to the link with F1 and as Maserati were also F1 World Champions before they pulled out of F1 it's an appropriate plate to put on this marque too. Hi Peter thanks for the reply and the offer. We are looking at either before or after the Mille Miglia. We are planning to do the MMTribute if ACB run it next year. I have a 575M that is unsold in NZ and would bring that back tio the UK as the drive car - if I sell it will bring the manual 575M. My friend is bring a 550M so both ideal touring cars. We are looking at 4-5 weeks, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Austria. Will stay in contact as we firm up plans. Presently planning for Pebble Beach, Monterey Week in August. Cheers, Philip |

Philip, sure sounds like you guys are combining a truly Epic Drive with many Epic Experiences & it would be great to hook up during your travels and add to your memories. As you know there are many International Ferrari owners on this Forum & I am sure many would be keen to meet up with you guys to add value to your trip and share experiences in their Countries. Can I propose you start a new thread titled 'European Tour 2013 - driving from NZ to UK, France, Italy, Spain, Austria' or similar, so we can post our suggestions, as this could also serve to help shape your itinerary & ensure you max your trip! Hi Peter - appreciate the ideas and encouragement - still working my way around the site. In 2010 we covered 6200km around Europe in a 575M F1 taking in Goodwood FOS, Col de Turini, Maranello, Stelvio Pass, Schlumpf Collection etc. I wrote an article about it on www.ferraridrivers.co.nz and for Scuderia Ferrari - the magazine of the Ferrari Owners Club NZ. Last year was Spain, France - all in Reno! We are going to ship cars to UK and start/finish there. I am also member FOC Andalucia. Great roads in Spain and we would like to drive through the Pyrenees. Will be busy. Cheers |

Hi Philip, read your article...what an amazing trip you enjoyed in 2010, you met some very interesting friends along the way....La Passione was and is very much alive as you rightly say! To whet your appetite and enthusiasm to add a Scottish leg to your itinerary take a look at the FLED6 thread to enjoy the great photos & write ups that some of the FLifers enjoyed in May this year when they visited...here's the link.... http://www.ferrarilife.com/forums/el...ay-2-a-24.html Life never slows in paradise....it is just much more enjoyable! Thanks Peter - we had a wonderful time. Tried to access the link but no go as they say. Did I miss something? I am planning on adding the one from last year in Spain - in spite of the Reno. Cheers, Philip

Hi Peter - amazing difference an upgrade membership can make. Super photos...just the sort that get the adrenalin flowing and inspire. Scenery is superb - a little reminiscent of parts of NZ. Wonder how many FLers we could get downunder as we have stunning roads and scenery. I will work on that one! Still chasing Automobile Club of Brescia to see what they are doing about MM Tribute. Cheers, Philip |

We are based in Auckland so Oamaru in the South Island. We do go there occasionally and have farming interests (near Hamilton) as well. There are many expats that ave purchased farms in NZ - one of our tenants is from the UK. Shipping the cars is roughly 30 days on a RORO (roll on roll off) from Southampton to Auckland. They sail back and forth with high frequency and is direct vs trans-shipment. I am shipping an X5 from UK this week - GBP1400. Cheers, Philip

Hi Peter Do you live in Scotland? Just wondered where as our daughter is heading to the UK with her friend (Harriet) for an adventure! They are driving to Scotland (Edinburgh) from London on Monday for a couple of days. Don't think they realise quite how far it is. They are both 24 and very charming. They don't know anyone up that way - just a passing thought. Kindest regards Philip |
