We will be having a night of frivolity and good food to start off 2012. If the weather cooperates we hope to see at least a few of our favorite cars in attendance.

Well, my wife doesn't drink so she should hate me by the end of the night!!! Maybe I shouldn't bring her

A drinking contest sounds like a good idea!!!! The last one I had was in Dubai.... The only thing I remember was getting off the palne in Afghanistan I took a serious wrong turn!!!! I found my hotel statement a few days later and realized I had actually checked out and signed my name to the charges... ( Actually, it was just some scribble marks, but it showed that I tried)

So if it is that kind of night that is in store for me then I'm ready!!!!

Got you down for attending. If your wife (designated driver) does decide to attend let me know so I get the head count right.

Our chapter does have some non-drinkers and minimal drinkers. She can hang out with them.

Doug: Do I mark you and Sabina down as attending? Don't have an RSVP e-mail from you.

You can host something later in the year when the weather will be decent. It would be fun to see your modest driveway filled with Ferraris. Afraid that for this dinner unless we get real fortunate with the weather we will find out what everyone's SUV is.

A bit of an update.

As of this morning have 22 attendees. Waiting to hear from some of the regular event attendees so expect this to grow. Have a few that should be hearing from today or tomorrow; expect at least 2 more from these.

Doug: You and Sabina going to make it or are you heading out of town that weekend?

For those that are not aware our chapter is one of the earliest FCA chapters. It was founded in 1972 as the St. Louis Cahpter.

February 4, 2012 Post Holiday Dinner Party

The weather this winter in St. Louis has been incredibly mild, so far. This boded well for our first gathering of 2012 for the Missouri & Southern Illinois Chapter for a dinner at Il Bel Lago. While the drizzle all day did preclude the use of our favorite cars there were reports of some of the cars having been in use recently when it had not been raining.

By the official start time of 6:00 pm for the reception people were already in attendance. As we got closer to the 7:00 pm dinner start the crowd was getting larger and larger with the group spilling from the main dining area into the bar. By the ascribed start time everyone was rounded up and picked their seats. Chapter President Evan Crandall made a brief welcoming address and advised that there are 9 events planned for the year.

We had a great turnout with a total of 40 people. This included a few of our newest members that we were able to give warm welcomes to. Also joining in were 3 of the 11 members (Dan & Susie Feinberg, Jack & Brenda Reuter, Tom & Cindy Welch) that founded our Chapter in 1972.

Now we all look forward to better weather so the cars can come out and play too!
