Default Fled 6: May 2-6 2012 Wed-Sun Scotland

Suggest we try to plan an Epic FLED 6 for 2012. Starting now should give us plenty of time to get it properly set up.

What is everyones idea route and timing?

FLED!!

I have been off line the whole summer sailing, sorry for that. Some of you wondered of my whereabouts, thank you for caring.

FLED countries that intrigue me are Marocko, Rumania, Northern GB, Iceland and Turkey. A stable full of Ferraris sea launched on Iceland might cause a pleasant stirr - maybe even TV fame. Not that I trip on TV coverage but TV might be useful to stage a beauty contest where the winning girls get to ride in our passenger seats during the FLED?? Just a thought...

(BTW, I may be off line for one more week.)

It has been a while, Capo, and yes we were all a bit worried and wondered how you were doing. Welcome back and great to hear things are well.

Personally a Highlands FLED in Scotland has a lot of appeal. Also something through Germany might be interesting.

Very interesting indeed. I'd love the Highlands. Also, Germany is an underestimated and large driving location. Most of the time I just speed through it on the Autobahn which is a bit of a shame.

Some of the best driving roads on the planet are in Scotland.

For Germany, we could do an interesting combination of highspeed autobahn, country side, and mountains.

Scotland is hard to beat. Also, the low density of population should mean greater play room on those marvellous roads?

Thanks 212 and thanks Boxer!

All is well! Here's a brief run down (sorry for hijacking the thread momentarily): After Zim I went directly onboard to sail and relax. Exciting but very exhausting and tricky hunting with very few results. Lots of antipoaching work had to be done instead and also some dehydration knocking me down for a few days but all in all very interesting. The stock on my H&H .500 NE broke though - sh1t happens when you use your stuff as opposed to only collect it. Sailing was long, relaxing and peaceful. Lot's of ladies onboard as usual though. Also, I have managed to rent a fourth garage spot in Bre, beside the three spots you saw.

The Titanic, the Phantom V, is still undergoing drive line restoration as they where having difficulties locating some transmission spares. Might not be able to repatriate it before the snow. The engine and engine bay is as from the factory, stunning! Haven't driven my Ferraris since early June. Looking forward to finally getting really pally with the Dino. I am right now in Spain having some rebuild work done on Rommel, the expedition vehicle, and its trailor. Marocko is scheduled for November. End run down.

I have never done Nuerburgring. It is worthy a visit all on its own! I am keen on it all and Scotland is very worthy of PZero grafitti! Forza Scotland!

Lets plan on Scotland. I have a very good friend who know the best roads and routes.

What works best for everyone:

April or May?

Welcome back capo. how is my next life going? If i can secure a navigator position,(will not be able to ship a car) i may well try to make this happen. Specially with my new found interest in scotch! With this much advance notice, april or may is good for me. Maybe more dependent on the weather in scotland? Will watch this thread for updates.

You are very welcome to join me, wetpet! Normally, my Zim trip is in May but if it turns out April is impossible or too cold/rainy for a FLED in Scotland in April (which I suspect) I might be able to rearrange my 2012 Zim tour to April for the priority of the FLED in May. Your next life is awesome btw, three concubines and no strings attached Right now I'm sitting at the Ritz in Madrid and I'm going to have a Caol Ila to your health! They did'n have it so I went for a Banff 1976 Connoseurs Choice.

Jimmy, I have one more car (I can provide the 612 and the 430) so if you come I'd be happy to provide wheels. You and wetpet would have to help me driving them up all the way from Lugano though.

In April/May I will be picking up a 458... if I can combine it with a FLED that would be great but it might be a bit tricky to wrap it all up in 1 package. I am also keen to see if I can persuade Ferrari to let me be a VIP at the Monaco GP, which might clash.

But - if at all possible, I would love to be there! With the new love, of course!

Both Germany and Scotland sound great - slight preference for Scotland as I've never been there, but a bit more difficult to get to I suppose.

Onno

Future: 458 Italia (April 2012!)
Present: 550 Maranello, 330GTC, 365BB (x2)
Past: eh - see above.
