Default Ferrari Weekend in France

Hi,My name is Dave and I run a B&B 40 mins from the circuit du Val de Vienne, every year they have a ferrari weekend(this year 5/6 June) the event is organized in aid of cancer, there are over 500 ferraris on show together with other sports cars of all ages, they race all weekend and for approx 20 euros each you can go into the paddock and get up close to the cars, I went last year with my wife and to say I enjoyed it was an under statement,I have never seen so many ferraris in one day all makes and styles, thanks D

Sound like a great weekend. What is the nearest large city?

Poitiers is about 50k NORTH and Limoges is about 75k south.

We have always had a good experence staying in the "relais du silence" hotels, usually smallish but with very good food.

I think it may have been a little plug for Dave's B&B as well as the event.
Wish i was going but [a] no car [ yet] and [b] a wife who does not like driving.

Well, you need a FLED3 before you can have 3.5, no?

I found this an interesting comment on that website:

A really rainy edition of the "Sport & Collection" meeting, for the 15th year, and as each year, one of the top European Ferrari meeting, with almost 400 or 500 cars from Maranello. The Ferrari hegemonia is more and more important and this 2009 edition showed some limits, in particular with the weak organisation in the paddock, but also for the tiredness of many owners from the others clubs, annoyed by the disdain of the organizers. Victim of its success this Sport and Collection?
I guess it's pretty difficult to keep everybody happy when you've got 500 Ferrari owners at an event.

The 2009 was not as good as the great fourteen previous ones, because of the rainy days during all that week end .
Last year the Shell Historic Challenge was also invited for the first time ,it was nice to see but the organisation was "all for them" in the paddocks and everywere ( so the organisers were a little nervous that year because of the Shell H. Chal. ...).

No Shell Historic for 2010 ...

The site of the organisation:http://www.sportetcollection.info/
