Hi and welcome to FLIfe.
I may be wrong on this, but I have always belived that to visit the factory these days you must be an owner of a Ferrari (verified by your VIN number and proof of ownership).

Museum is in a separate building you can visit.

Factory tour? No Ferrari ownership-no factory tour! You will be S.O.L.!

I had a person on a Porsche site contact me to see if I could help him tour the Ferrari factory!

Now that's a unique request!!

Rik has 2 Ferrari's and he still has not seen the factory.

Best we can do is welcome you here.

Maybe he could go in as your son when you go, Rik!

Some very rare exceptions aside, factory visits are only for Ferrari owners, and only by prior booking, either through your local dealership or the Ferrari.com website. The Fiorano track is not open to the public either.

The museum (Galleria Ferrari) is open to the public (subject to a €10 fee), and it is not on the factory grounds but a couple of streets down the road.

It is a little easier to visit other supercar manufacturers. I haven't visited Ferrari yet (although I will), but I have already had a tour of the Lamborghini and Pagani factories (although Pagani is more like a big shed than a factory)... Pagani was happy to organise a quick tour for us even coming by unannounced, but it has to be said that we all arrived in Ferraris and Lambo's. The Lamborghini visit was organised in advance by a Lambo owner.

All in all, it is pretty difficult to visit these facilities if you're not an owner of some exotic. However, it can be done if you invest a lot of time in your supercar passion. The Dutch Ferrari Club has a separate section of non-owners, and they have a trip to the factory every 4 years or so. I've also made many non-owner friends on forums, and they have accompanied my friends and I on the Lambo and Pagani tour. But don't forget - these people put a lot of time and effort in their hobby, they're not just hangers-on wanting things for free. Most of them are passionate photographers that really help make our meetings and trips special, others are very knowledgeable on Ferrari history. But all of them are great to talk cars with and they don't expect to be handed out things.

Non owners can do the factory tour as visitors to the RM Auction in May. Otherwise, except in special circumstances they can generally only do so as the guest of an owner who is doingthe tour.

Only as bidders with serious potential. I was a bidder at that auction and did not get a factory tour.

Onno, you obviously didn't try hard enough! I know quite a few people who did the tour that way this year who don't own Ferraris and weren't likely to be buying cars at the auction either.

this is close as you get without owning a ferrari. If you are under 16 you are not getting in at all. I took my son to the gate and they wouldn't let him in. Had to send him back to the Planet across the street for a couple hours while i toured. EXTREMELY strict. The lambo and pagani factory will let you in. In fact the lambo lady gave us a personal tour and $100's of euros in swag to boot.

I'll remember that - the fact was I didn't know about it until auction day, so I couldn't have insisted. 2010 there's no RM Auction anyway, but if I do get to do the MM Tribute then I'll have a factory tour with that.

The Pagani factory is great to visit, although what you get to see depends on your contacts. The Lambo tour is really into the heart of the factory floor - it was awesome! But they do charge €35 nowadays, unlike earlier years.

I didn't have any contacts with pagani. Just reached them via email. I think i saw everything but a couple they had under tarps in development. Watching them lay up the carbon fibre parts was awesome. Did you have a different experience? my visit was about two years ago.

I think the main difference was that we didn't notify them, just rocked up. My impression was that they would reserve the inner sanctum for owners and such, but perhaps I got the wrong impression. They did make an effort to treat us specially, showed us as Ferrari owners some owner's cars in for service and such which other people didn't get to see. All-in-all they were very nice and accommodating for a group that, as mentioned, didn't announce their intention to swing by (it was a last minute decision).

It sounds like I need to visit again but this time arrange beforehand.
