Default World Press tests new F12berlinetta & Alonso, Massa have fun on Fiorano

The International Media Test Drive, dedicated to the F12berlinetta, started today. The first group of specialised journalists from all over the world had for the first time the possibility of a personal contact with the model from the Prancing Horse, the spearhead of a new generation of Ferrari 12-cylinders.

The more than 150 international journalists will experience the F12’s dynamics on the roads in the hills, where the car has been developed. Through the corners of the Fiorano race track, the challenging and precious test bench, they will receive confirmation of the ever improving performance of the cars from Ferrari.

The F12berlinetta is indeed not only the most powerful road car ever built in Maranello - with 740 bhp and an acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h in a mere 8.5 seconds – but also the most potent in Fiorano with a lap time of 1’23”. Here on the track the two drivers of the Scuderia Ferrari - Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa – were back behind the wheel of the F12 after the development sessions over the previous months, enjoying the car’s final configuration on fast laps, countersteering and enjoying pure driving pleasure.

Mike- Thanks, great fun and a really desirable car. Guess the first road tests should start showing up soon.

That was a great video!

Some serious hp - no nanny help while they terrorize the track with the F12 and grinning from ear to ear.

Massa is so tiny that when you stand next to him he's about knee height LOL

Thanks for sharing the vids Mike

I still prefer the looks of a 599HGTE, the F12 looks like its been T-Boned. By that I mean driven into side on, what's with the creases along the sides, I know it's for aerodynamics and all that, but, nope....I just don't get it's looks! Perhaps it's a grower like the FF was

For once we disagree Peter, in the flesh at Goodwood FOS I thought it was absolutely stunning - not too big!

Softer rolling lines - less edgy lines age better.

Creasing lines are hard for the eye to follow.

Not buying the lines help performance - take a look at the Veyron.

Aston and Ferrari should exchange design manager for a performance manager every six months.
