My wife and I just got back from a day at the "O Club". We parked ourselves at the 3rd hole and watched a day of great golf.

The great weather and the fact that BART and the free shuttles were all working made it even better.

Looks like Phil made the cut after a horrible first round. Looks like Tiger's strategy of playing safe and steady is paying off, as he is tied for the lead. Today should be a zoo, but the great bloody Mary's at Chevron's hospitality area at Winged O is making it all aok.

Last one I attended was with John Daly bombing drives into the fairways.

Who are you following?

Follow Tiger pretty much, but it is tough with the mob, so we just watch a couple holes, then go drink in Chevron hospitality area and follow it on TV. No cell phone policy sucks, no tv's on the course, the USGA needs to move into the 20th century!

Attended the Open at Congressional last year. First day I was questioning the phone/electronics policy. However, starting sometime on day 2 I began to appreciate the atmosphere it garnered, particularly the cell phones. I can't imagine how many arms would be stuck up in the air trying to take pictures and blocking everyone's view in the process. Not to mention how many of them would routinely "forget" to silence the things. It would be a complete disaster in my estimation. I generally agree now that that the no TV policy is a good one because that would get abused too no doubt although I agree that a couple/few well placed viewing boards would be nice.

Hope you're having a great time. I love the Open. Will be attending again next year at Merion. Already can't wait.

Agree with Bob but a few TV's would be nice at some stations around the course.

The PGA will never change anything - Tiger is still prime time I would be doing the exact same.

Today is going to be nuts - hopefully you get there early and watch some practice shots. The shots they take during practice to lighten things up are amazing.

Have watched them on the range, pretty amazing their consistency, but it is quite the zoo over there too. The free little radios you get with ESPN news playing on them help allow to follow the action help, courtesy of AMEX, but TV's would be better!
