He really overcooked it on that one. Almost looked like his brakes failed.

I've never seen the 458 undercarriage before.

That looks painful, how the car hit the barrier, im suprise some of it didn't break off :S.

According to a racer who races with him, he stated that the driver was doing very well in all events, and that day's many laps. He knows it was due to brake failure causing, IIRC, lockup of sorts.

Not a driver error, but a mechanical one, and really glad it didn't fare worse for the driver. If not for that fence, he'd be over the side and with a worse fence, perhaps impaled.
