While I'm here I may as well mention that our very good friends own several holiday homes down the road from me (if any of you are thinking of coming down): Gites in Aude, southern France Owned by Tony & Volodya who are top guys (and car collectors). The house bottom left "la Grange" is in a very nice location, tiny village (population: 35!), on top of a hill. If you are after peace and quiet. There is also a holiday home en face chez moi, which is an absolute steal at €15 per night per person!! owned by our Irish friends (only available if you know me, or indeed, them!)..and I can sort out secure parking in the village (most likely my garage) 3 bed, two bathrooms and a large lounge, and indeed, a pool room (cue not swim) Think I've filled my Aude tourism quota for the year Last edited by mjb11800; 04-16-2012 at 05:28 AM. |

Jer, I'll be starting your 550 pic tomorrow or the day after - I can put your plate on whenever you're ready, no probs. But could you give me an indication about what you'd like? y'know, .. location, setting, lighting (or time of day) that kinda thing? I've got some normal work most of the day tomorrow, so tomorra evening is probably when I'll start to do the initial draft. Currently finishing off a architectural 3d visualisation which is sucking up most of my time at the mo - which is what I do when I'm not designing for Gulf. Would like to paint cars all the time - maybe one day eh? Last edited by mjb11800; 04-16-2012 at 11:18 AM. |

I would love it in the same kind of setting like the Dino's you did...bit of rainish/darkish..I don't have a clear good looking pic from the rear I'm afraid..is that a problem?? Very cool Ducati stuff! Love the manga! Aaaw, thought you'd like a manga ferrari pic! ![]() Nah, that's no problem Jeroen, I only need the 'plate, I've got lots of 550 images, so no worries unless your car has something non-standard about it? |

Matt Can you explain what a digital painting actually is - (and excuse my ignorance in such matters)? Having looked back over your threads, your work is great, I'm just interested in how you do it. I'll have to take a look at where he is and drop in. Yeah sure, digital painting (thank-you by the way) is basically just normal painting but using a Wacom tablet instead of traditional pen/ink/paint. I nomally do it through photoshop with custom brushes that I've made, you just draw away with the pen and basically every tiny movement or pressure (normally linked to thickness or opacity) you make on the tablet is created on screen. I've had mine for years now, and you get so used to it that I rarely use the mouse. The benefit is, is that I can use airbrush/pen/pencil/paint brush all on the same image which would take a traditional artist hours to do, and its less messy! The images I've posted up are roughed out (very rough) on layer one - huge big strokes for where light/darkness is and then refined down and down (over several layers) until it's at a level of detail I'm happy with. I love working like this - I used to paint normally (years ago), but couldnt be arsed with all the hassle of buying paints/canvas/waiting for it to dry blahdy blah! Hope all that makes sense, I've had a few glasses of red ![]() They look like this: |
