Default Ferrari owner at last!

I hope I am not jumping the gun but subject to a satisfactory inspection I have just agreed to buy a Challenge Stradale! Seller is having service and cam belts done plus having bad stone chip dealt with so I won't pick it up for a few weeks. It is going to be a long three weeks!

Pictures will follow once I pick it up.

Decided to go for private sale. Car was originally sold by Niki Hasler (dealer in Basel) and they have done all the services (plus will do inspection for me). Apart from stone chip it seemed to be in perfect condition.

SM- Way to go. I think the CS is the most attractive of all the 360/430 family of cars. You should have great fun driving her.

Welcome to the Ferrari world I know Niki Hasler quite well and I'm sure they took good car of your car. He's one of the best dealers in Switzerland. Now you'll have to keep yourself busy while waiting for the delivery...and that's always an endless wait! But stay around here as there is a lot to read while waiting for your car

Congrats, the fun has not even begun! You think you have a smile now, just wait until you see it in the garage, again, again, again and again. That smile never goes away!

I did jump the gun

Just spoken with the Ferrari dealer. Overall the car is in very good condition: except the brake discs front and back need replacing. Just a small matter of CHF 22'000!

SM- Many owners are switching to steel brakes for that reason. If you replace the rotors and stay off the track, they should last the life of the car. Racetracks eat up CCM brakes.

Have been trying to convince Mov'It to make a replacement rotor for Ferraris because their rotors are solid carbon silicon carbide and virtually indestructible, but so far no luck. They are too busy providing brakes for high end Porsches and Lotuses to do the work.

I would get it factored into the buying price.

Waiting to see what the seller suggests. Not sure if he can reduce enough to make it worthwhile for me. Have since asked my local specialist and they can do brakes for CHF 16'000 so maybe we can reach a deal. Don't want to give up on the car because apart from the brakes it is in excellent condition.
