I have never heard of this VIP book, let alone that every owner should get one. I've never seen one either. Does anyone have any pics?

Obviously I would love one with my upcoming 458, but it certainly is not an option on the list and my dealer never mentioned it.

I've seen several VIP books - and not just for limited edition Ferraris. I don't take them too seriously though. Years ago, a friend of mine (can-am racer the late Brad Abbott, may he rest in peace) ordered a 430 with red calipers. Ferrari forgot to paint the calipers, but the pictures in the accompanying VIP book showed a 430 on the production line with red calipers. We were both amused.

Brad was the first person to ever give me a ride in a Ferrari (a blue 550); and when he took delivery of his E55 AMG, he called me up and we tore ass up the side streets near the firm where he worked. When he was racing, the mechanics nicknamed him Bad Habit, because he had a bad habit of destroying gearboxes. He was a cool guy.

I received a VIP book is a red leather sleeve, in which is a small booklet which contains photos of the factory build of the Ferrari you ordered. I've only ever seen them for F430 models though and I received one with my F430 Spider on delivery. When I purchased my California Ferrari no longer issued build VIP booklets, instead I received a scaled down replica model of the exact specification California that Id ordered, on this my my name was engraved into a metal plaque & this still happens in the UK today for any Ferrari you order.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion out there!

That was very quick jump from RED 20 to 70, you should get your new toy within 4 weeks now, but you're Dealer will be able to confirm this now!

I have seen lots of VIP books - it's about 30 pictures of the cars build.

The 458 scale model costs 3000 euro at the dealership in Holland. I know, I've ordered one. Some customers in the US reported getting one for free. I'll be pretty peeved off if other European customers get them for free, I must say.

But can someone confirm they exist for the 458?

Could anyone tell me how the Front lift works, I ordered it and was wondering how it works. Is there a button that you push that lifts the front end up? I haven't received my car yet, still status 90 but was wondering how the lift worked.

Thank You

If it is similar to the lift system used in other Ferraris, there will be a switch on the dashboard that you use to raise the car. It will then drop back down automatically once you hit 20 mph. Just make sure you drop the suspension when you park the car.

That is also my information from my dealer this morning. He said "they replaced it with something else". What that is, I have no idea.
