McLaren have used the same company as Ferrari, Webasto, for their roof on the MP4 Spider and obviously we've all seen this roof design recently. Word has it though that the MP4's roof will take 17 seconds to retract unlike the 14 seconds on the 458 Spider. The MP4 however will have a clear engine deck cover, something that is missing from the 458 version.

I read recently that Ferrari engineers developed and patented this roof design 6 years ago. Wonder how they feel that the MP4 will have the same design.....

Might want to ask Mercedes about that - roof first appeared on their cars.
