Default Ferrari back in Grand Am in full force

last year Dragonspeed a lone privateer led by the seasoned race pro Elton Julian fielded a single converted 430 Challenge car with an all gentlemen driver line up - They finished the 24 hours at Daytona under adverse conditions.

This year Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale paved the way & opened the door for Ferrari by getting Grand Am approval for the 458 GT car with RISI Competizione

and several other world class teams walked through that door.

This year 5 cars are on the grid

here are some shots from this weekend's testing

Great pics and what an outstanding car! Maybe I might be a little biased, but I could not help it but when I saw the pics, especially #5, this came to mind:

You have no idea how much joy I got out of reading that response, maybe you do. Thanks a million!

Funny thing, when I first saw an F40 and F50, I liked the F50 more. However, when I learned more about the 2 of them, not just looks, I do not know what happened, but the F40 became the dream car. There are lots of amazing cars out there, but as of now, I would take the F40 over any, period.

If I ever make it to southern Florida, I will definitely let you know.
If you ever make it to the DC area, let me know.

this year's Daytona 24 will be an epic race, in both DP and GT...great field, new cars, renewed manufacturer commitments (including Ferrari FINALLY stepping up in GT), 50th anniversary of the race...it will be an great race!

i am glad to see ferrari in sports car racing. would love to see a lot more. I will be following this. thanks for the post.

Redtr, if you would get your ass down to cavallino, you might have the chance to see an F40 LM pounding around the track as i have! It is an amazing sight. Specially when a couple BBLM and a couple 330 SP's are out there too! If there is one there this year, i will film it and post.

the car is still at FCI waiting for FMFL to pick it up and bring it down so its going to be a Chinese fire drill to get the car ready. Next week I will have a better picture of what I am showing... see you there!
