Went of this weekend to view with my good friend, what was said to be paint perfect, 348. of we went like two school kids full of the joy,s of spring. boat, drive , and view. arrived at the dealers 8.45am and every thing looked good. nice showroom ect ect. guy arrives to open up at 9.00am lets us in to have a closer look at the 348. Well what a let down. car needed a repaint, oil dripping onto the floor, and when we pointed out the defects we where told its a 21 year old car your here to buy, what did you expect. any way we took it for a test drive, hmmmm car was imposable to select gears, the brakes well they worked just! and when asked would / has the car been serviced before delivery subject to a sale, we again where told it had a service 1000 miles ago and it was fine. what is it with dealers who say a car is mint and when asked to send pics, will select the good bits, tell a load of porkies, and look agased when you point out what is very wrong with the way they have advertised the car. any way the deal fell apart no 348 and the only good thing about the trip across the pond was the tunnel run through wales, back to the boat. (will post on you tube) Last edited by weepee; 12-04-2011 at 11:39 PM. |

| 2 Doors, Manual 5 speed, Coupe, Petrol, 33,000 miles, Rosso Corsa. Crema Leather Trim, Stunning Showroom Condition, Lots of History/ Bills and recenty had belt service last year. Sports Exhaust, Alarm, Air conditioning, Electric windows, Immobiliser, Climate Control, Central locking. Insurance Group:20, £26,950 The above is how the car was advertised Stunning show room condition (my Back side) It must of had 20 rust bubbles around the arches Even tho they said it had no rust what so ever around the arches If id known that alone i wouldnt have been there I tried to look past the body work and its bad colour matches and found a standard exhaust not a sports exhaust as stated ![]() After getting the car up to temperature we went for the test drive Gear selection was almost impossible I have an 86 Mondial compared to the 348 it drives like a new motor Brakes were awful clearly a problem with the servo Then the clunk when starting the engine and a clunk clunk when switching it off Im no mechanic but it was time for us to bolt and move on This is not the 1st time this has happened to me last year i was trying to buy a Yellow 360 in Birmingham The advertising photos were obviously taken before the car was written off These to trips alone have cost me the guts of a grand Maybe 3rd time lucky? My conclusion is not just anyone should be aloud to sell Ferrari's Any help in finding me a good one would be greatly appreciated |

| 2nd that. I got my 360 from him and he restored the 308 GT4 prior to my ownership. A good guy to deal with.

Hi Barry, as you can see me and the big man had another jaunt across the pond. this is harder than finding the grail. Any way we ( the big man) have contacted verdi in London he has a few nice cars and the plan now is to go across after xmas. The big man needs to of load the mondial and this will give him a better hand to deal with. the best part of our trip as always is the tunnel run back to the boat at holyhead. |
