I thought the same thing when I first saw the ad.

They have gotten a lot of PR out of it.

Good for them

Well if they're providing the labor free they deserve it.

I hope for their sake the winner doesn't own a C4.

Brian- Which do you like the least, removing the intake system for just about anything or working on a buried distributor? My old Daytona was so easy to maintain, especially since it was pretty new when I got it.

Daytonas were really an easy car to work on. There is nothing hard to do on them.

Then there is the C4.

Papa Agnelli's nephew designed that motor as a graduate project in engineering school and Ferrari felt "obliged" to put it into production.
The part of the story that leaves us all scratching our heads was why that basic engine architecture was kept going forward and the Daytona was shelved?
The Daytona top end was superior in every way and the overall height issue always used as an excuse is just a fantasy.

Brian- Yup, my techs had a 365 GT4 2+2 in the shop last time I was there and it was about the same except the distributor looked even more buried. Do not remember if it was one or two distributors, but really stuffed underneath the cowl.

It took about 30 seconds to pull one of the Daytona distributors, mark the rotor location, and put it on the distributor machine. Everything was easy, including adjusting the chain.

They have limited the benefit to a max of $10 000. Do not know what $10 000 buys down your side but here it does a major on a 355 along with a clutch kit and new tyres as well as the garage owner performing an aria for your pleasure.

The owner states on his website, "And 47, well, it’s my way of dedicating this studio to Mr. Enzo Ferrari and the year of the first road going car to carry the Ferrari name."

All proceeds from this sale go directly to the Dan Wheldon Memorial Trust.

Be worth more if it came with a certificate saying Danica never wore it.

That is a very noble donation by this shop. Hats off to them.

As a side note to Brian's comment.....I have owned 2 C/4s. Neither for very long. I would add up in my head all the things they would need and $$ I would have to invest only to come to the conclusion that I had to sell the car. No knock on how wonderful these cars are. Just could never wrap my head about the cost of maintenance vs end value. Now if I could remember which end of a wrench to hold maybe I would have thought differently.
