As I'm heading there for checking out Gumball tomorrow I would like to ask if anyone knew about some good places for Ferraris, (dealerships etc.) as I want to spend my free afternoon time useful before the ballers arrive as I saw everything there as a tourist so now it's time for a petrolhead's journey.

Heard there could be some vintage Ferraris as well which would put a crown on the day if it was true.

My 575 has only cold air coming out of the heater. The electric shuttle valve that controls water into the matrix was clicking. I changed it and the clicking stopped, but valve remains shut.
the heater controls all work perfectly it seams. Could it be the interiot temperature sensor?
Any ideas?
Thanks:cry3:

Question for you guys and galls........

A car I looked at today (3 owner on an 01 plate) is low mileage (sub 30k) and some years has done very little mileage at all (1000miles). The owners appear to have serviced the car every 1 and 2 years (typically every 18mths) in the case where the annual mileage was low. The service record, MOTs and invoices are all there and the engine recently had a full rebuild (£15k) as a result of a problem with the big end bearing (caused by residual detritus left in the engine from initial casting) which included new crank, clutch, belts etc.

The price is ok and is for sale through a reputable specialist (who did the engine rebuild back in December). They know the car and recommend the car and say it is better than average condition for the year and runs very tight

Your experts views/comments are much appreciated on the lack of annual service concerns I have.

thanks in advance.

F430 scud owners and wannabe buyers, my scud book report :

have my scud since new for 3.5 years and 11k hard but no track, no city errand running miles.
...

have my scud since new for 3.5 years and 11k hard but no track, no city errand running miles.

own 458s since it came out and now the spider, 10k hard fast miles total on them.

first lets get one thing straight, the 458 is the "better" car.
its faster, smoother, easier to drive fast or slow, much more comfortable, more convenient to drive, never disappoints, and better in every which way you can come up with, plus its NEW, latest and greatest.
I driven the MP4 on numerous occassions, quit saying its a threat to the ferrari, period.

my scud like all ferraris and my 458 has a "soul". but the scud seem to have more of it. By that, i mean it drives differently almost everytime i start it. It needs time to get used to changes, like tires : i did corsas, s001s, pss, re11, etc... The battery likes to be fully charged, otherwise it hiccups and puffs.....

Alignments..... Everytime i did something to the scud, it behaves differently, which i find very interesting.
At times, its frustrating, like when i realize that s001s confuses the crap out of the traction control and abs systems.
The bump steer of the scud is laughable compared to the 458, the steering needed tightened up very early on.
it feels more like a living being than the near perfect 458. Scud has terrible shock rattles and other non-pleasant ambient nosies. Its almost like a human being having faults and character, or you can look at it as a POS.

The 458 always feel perfect no matter what i do to it, whether its tires, rims, spacers... It just becomes faster and smoother.

However, one thing that surprises me with the new ferraris like the 458, its the feel after you change the oil. The car always feel faster, pulls more eagerly to redline, and sounds even louder after an oil change. I do that at the dealer with their new, i think its 10w60 or 50 shell oil, and its amazing. I always joke with the tech that they put indian secret oil in my car. It might be psychological.
But i change my oil every 3-4k miles, so its not that long at all.

back to the scud.
you really DONT need to upgrade to a 458.
of course my 458 is better in everyway, but thrills per mile still goes to the scud. Im more of a lunatic when im in the scud, i do crazy things in it that i dont in the sophisticated 458. I get into trouble with the law more in the scud, i found myself becoming a hooligan a-shole running away from traffic, the pure sensation of driving the scud thru my favorite mountain twisities can not be beat by my 458.

Sure, the 458 is the best, but it doesnt make me feel tired, or concentrate like the scud. And thats the single biggest negative of my scud, it makes me exhausted after a drive.
My 458 spider was much more sensational than the italia but thats another story, but if i didnt have money for my italia, my scud is more than fine.

I ordered my scud, so its pretty much the perfect spec for me, and i need some hard convincing if i ever going to part with mine. Im still observing its reliability after warranty, but besides that there is not much reason to fault it.

for those looking for a scud, go ahead!

for scud owners stressing for a italia, dont worry, ur not missing much.

for 360/430 owners, what are u waiting for??!!

I was at the F dealer this morning as had heard some odd, clunking noises from the rear of my 355 at the weekend. They found that some nuts/bolts not tightened properly on the driveshaft (or thereabouts). Replaced them and so hopefully now okay. I've been driving it a lot (2000 km in less than 4 weeks) and have also been driving it fairly hard - at least a lot harder than it is used to as I believe the former owner was a polisher and not a driver!

Whilst they were investigating I chatted with the dealer. Asked whether they had sold any supercars or knew of any for sale. Was told that they had almost done a deal on an F50. However, there had been some issues and the potential purchaser had pulled out and then the seller had decided to hold onto it.

I asked the dealer what it was like to drive the F50. I was expecting to hear him wax lyrical about it....but he simply said "unpleasant"! Went on to say that on the right road, when you could give it some gas, it was fine but most of the time it was just too loud and too uncomfortable with all the mechanical noise and vibration passed directly into the cabin and that at normal revs the carbon fibre tub often develops an unpleasant resonance.

I'd like to have an opinion myself on the matter but my experience of F50s limited to viewing them as static objects as not even seen one moving so far.

Some of you may know about this company, some may not. I'm sure some of you are members on other car forums though and could share this. DMC has "made" some kits for various Ferrari's like the Cali and F12. This stuff has just recently hit the web. I wouldn't share this here if it wasn't somewhat important. It's a long read but it ends with a bang, or well an explosion. In short, DMC has been buying kits made by another company and then reselling them at a huge mark up after they rebranded the parts DMC (think around $25k for a whole kit). The customers did not know this.

Ferrari Dino - Ducting / Hose for restoration?

Dear Dino restorer,

Dear Dino restorer,

me and some other Dino restorers wanted to use the original ducting for the engine block again and got in touch with the german company who sold these ductings to Ferrari back to the 1970s.
This ducting was used for air intake to the engine block.
The used cut lengths were 0,3 meters and 0,45 meters for each car.

So we ordered this hise type with a small group of people, but as the minimum order quantity was pretty high, we were forced to order more than needed (this hose is no standard any more, normal MOQ: 300 meters/order).

Now I do have several hoses available because of the big MOQ and because some people who bought these hoses as well, left me in the lurch and didn't get in touch with me any more. I do no use of these any more and would like to ask who is in need of these air intake hoses.

I guess many of you are like us: you do want to have all original parts when you restore your dream car/your baby. ;)

We bought two hose versions in the past:
The normal variant
and
a flame retardent variant

I have attachex two data sheets from this company.

Just to inform you regarding the unit prices…:
Normal version:
We paid for the 0,3 meter ducting: 49,00 €/pc.
And for the 0,45 meter ducting: 74,00 €/pc.

Flame retardent version:
We paid for the 0,3 meter ducting: 67,00 €/pc.
and for the 0,45 meter cut length: 100,00€/pc.

These are the prices we paid for ours and I only want to get back the costs I had with these pieces. I promise that I do not want to gain a profit with this.

I can ship these hoses worldwide if desired. Shipping cost are charged for buyer.
Hoses are currently based in germany.

I hope there is some interest in these hoses.

If there are questons left or you are interested, feel free to write me a pm.

Thank you.

Maybe a very dumb question...of course depends on the caretaker. Question arose today because suddenly a 599 GTB 2006, with ful carbon spec, Daytona seats and new carbon ceramic disks Grey Silverstone/black has been offered for 75' Euro's. 56' k on the odometer is a lot. I was looking at the car since 2 years, not because of buying interest but because of market interest. The seller is nearby and I looked at the car (driven 1'000km since then) 2 years ago, at that time offered for around Euro 130' !

599 is not really my car as I think it is a big Dolphin, however price wise it gets interesting. A 10'k car same Age and same Options will be around 105-110' Euro. So the additional 40'k puts the Price 30-35% down within the Price range of a great 575M with good specs (except for GTC's). So such thought would make sense if the car would be driven to 100'k....150' k maybe 200' k:crowngrin:
What are your thoughts ?

Just finished up the annual oil change on this F430. It's a 2008 with about 8700 mi, F1 transmission, Carbon Ceramic Brakes, Factory Fender Shields, Factory Upgraded Stereo, Power Seats, Contrast Stitching, Interior Carbon Fiber Trim and of course Ball Polished Wheels.

The current owner isn't using the car enough and would like to re-home it instead of watching it waste away in his garage.

I took some quick pictures before he drove away to share, these are not proper advertising photos. More information and pictures could be made available to those whom are seriously interested.

Asking price is $150k, and offers are being accepted.
