Default 75 Dart Sport

Finally found an A body project! It's a 75 Dart Sport 318 automatic. The body is in good shape and no major rust. It has bucket seats with a console, factory A/C, power steering, and power brakes. It does run but is very rough and also needs a new gas tank. It sat inside for 10 years. A deal I think at $1700.

Your call but I know I have bought rallye Challengers in similar nick for not much more than that. A 75 dart just doesnt have the follwing or resale though. If you really like it though, drop a 360 in it and let er rip. A 318 auto in that thing is going to be a dog.

It's not going to keep the 318 lol, haven't decided but it won't have anything less than a built 440 with a 727 torque flight. Could even end up with a built 500 stroker.

I don't know the Dart isn't THAT heavy, you might be surprised at what a warmed over 360 can do. My friend's mother (go figure) restored a '78 Lil Red Express with a factory 360 and 727 auto and that thing is quick. In fact they are faster in the 1/4 than a US 308 of that year because the US cars got choked with smog equipment and since this was a truck, it didn't need it. 14.70 seconds @ 93 MPH vs the 308 at 15.8.

No doubt, when I was a kid my father had a Dodge truck with a 360(very mild) and I remember it was a blast, but what I'm thinking the goal is going to be a street able drag car.

Looks like a fun project! I used to have a '73 Dodge Challenger Rallye with a 340. I liked that car.

Gas Tank in, new Edelbrock, new tires. It's still running kind of rough but a good driver I suppose.
I know my Dad loves it though (FYI: His car. Father/Son project) and it's been great bonding for us and thats what really matters.
