Sad part is I don't think anyone really expected Axl to show up and be professional. Even worse is that if he did, and behaved professionally it still wouldn't amount to anything.

He's been such an ass for so long he's made himself irrelevant to the band.

I'd like to see them get together as "Roses and Guns" and get a Filipino lead singer that sounds exactly like Axl and go on tour. It'd be better than seeing him in his current state, and he wouldn't get a penny for it either.

Unfortunately I've never seen GnR live and never will get to.

I've seen Black Sabbath with the original line up. That was a show worth paying for.

Bruce Cohn [great car guy BTW and presents a killer Summer two-day festival in Sonoma] had Journey here two years ago with the Filipino guy and although all went well I had a hard time warming up to what amounted to a tribute singer with a great background band.

Having spent many years in the Phillipines, I can attest to seeing many great tributes, but all in all....something is missing. Especially when you know most of the original band is present but not the member one remembers the most. Can one imagine The Rolling Stones or Areosmith with a tirbute singer? doens't really work well.

saw journey with the Philippino and they were awesome. sounded exactly like the original line up. and with journey, that's all you really need. Also saw the original line up of g&r. many moons ago. Just saw the axl only version a couple of weeks ago in a small club. not as good, but since axl paid for the ticket, i didn't complain.

He actually stole the name from his other band. Years before he was in a band with Izzy Stradlin who played for Hollywood Rose and lead guitarist Traci Guns, they put the 2 names together formed Gun's and Rose's. He later kicked the rest of them out kept the name the rest is history.
