I like the idea of breaking through speech impairment issues like comas and such. What a fantastic tool that would be. Also think about this...do our pets have similar responses to words? Even if the patterns were different, it could form the baseline for a translation. The ability for this to devolve into generic thought-reading...obviously, there's a huge potential for abuse. However, I will point out that if "they" start listening in on the thoughts of the random population, they are going to be SERIOUSLY bored! |
